14 SHO vs 14 Charger RT

Which ford dealer did you go to?

Maplecrest in Union. I am a longtime customer and throw them a ton of business from our fleet vehicles so they take care of me. They are the only dealership that touches my Shelby.

Thanks for the congrats guys, but I don't have it yet thanx to no paycheck. Just killed myself on a 10 hr detail for some dough.

Looks like a change of plans, deal on Charger is much better $$. Waiting to hear back on a loaded Silver RT with the black top pkge.

Have you driven both cars, I can say that I haven't so I can't comment from that angle. The SHO has AWD and TT, so it can handle the power in all conditions, not sure where you live but that's a factor. Yes, the Charger is available w/ AWD but it then looks like a 4wd truck w/ the wheelwell gap. Another factor is the fact that the current Charger platform is from when Diamler owned them, just don't see a lot of refinement for a platform from another ownership group. Other factors like room could factor in, maybe you fit better in the Charger, the Taurus is a bit crammed, guess they didn't learn from the Contour I guess.

Mods for both cars are a plenty but w/ a turbo they add up and they add up FAST! One thing about the new SHO that I can't stand are the gloss black wheels, can't wait for this fad to go away with the MFG's!!

Keep us posted on the new ride, whatever it is.

Not the exact models, but I have driven an SHO and a Charger RT. I don't like the looks of the AWD Charger either. The lack of interior space and the price killed it for me on the SHO. The AWD is not a big concern because I have a Durgano RT for the snow. We have the Taurus and Charger at work, so I get to spend alot of time in both vehicles. The Charger handles quite well for a big car. The RT with the black top pkge comes with 3.06 gears, 145 top speed, sport suspension and paddle shifters, 0-60 5.2 1/4 13.7, right on par with the SHO.

Yeah I know a simple tune on the SHO will give it a big boost, but just not happy with interior space, wheels, exterior looks are just okay and price.

The Charger is better lookin', that's for SHO, LOL! I think Ford needs to go over the Taurus again, it doesn't match up with the rest of their line-up IMHO.

Yeah, if the new Fusion had the TT V6 with AWD it would be a no brainer. I like the exterior styling and interior space much better yah the Taurus.

Decided to go with a 13 Charger RT, Billet Silver, Black Top pkge, 29P pkge, NAV, driver convenience and sunroof. Go fast goodies include: performance suspension, 145 MPH top speed, Sport Mode 2, 3.06 rear and Steering wheel-mounted paddle shifters.

Not actual car

We're in Chicago and have a charger R/T with all the electronic stability control it's not bad in the snow. I drove a 5.0 mustang every day for years so I may have a different view of good in the snow.
I'm more than happy with the Charger. It's probably one of the best all around cars I've ever bought for the price.

Good to know, thanx.

I love the chargers, esp the srt with the blacked out grill. However I like the sophistication of my 300. What options did you get?

RT Plus, black top pkge, NAV , driver convenience and sun roof. I love the 300S with the Hemi but there is no real sport pkge except for srt8. The charger has more go fast options, but looks go to 300.

Should have got AWD! I can barely drive in this weather! Get stuck in my driveway.

I would have killed for AWD a few days ago. FWD and all seasons just don't work on ice. Moving 4 cars at work about 10ft each took about an hour.

AWD and snows don't work all that well on ice either. Sure, you can get going and turn much better than FWD and AS, but stopping is what counts in icy weather. You're better off not leaving your driveway if you can't stop.

But for moving a few cars 10', AWD would do the trick.

Yeah, one of the lots at work is all stone and dirt. Cover it with a foot of snow, let some melt, and then you are stuck with an ice lot. The few AWD cars down there handled it fine, but the rest were a nightmare, but that's expected on ice. Somebody just happened to want the car that was all of the way in the back corner blocked by everything else.

And yes, if roads are icy, there is no sense in travelling. Even if you stop, the guy behind you probably won't.

I think Edelbrock makes a "turn-key" supercharger for it for around $7000; with warranty.

Something to think about and keep you warm during those cold winters.

Mopar or no car. There is a reason Dodge muscle has the awe inspiring history. If speed and performance are an issue take the difference and invest it under the hood. 8k will easily out perform the sho in the end
