I was very excited to bring to you this next car as it is a favorite among many. This customer contacted me about reviving his 1997 15th Anniversary Toyota Supra, back to the condition all Supra's deserve to be in. So I packed up the NSX and headed down to Nashville. (I would like to apologize in advance as my good camera was dead when I got there, so I had to use a cheaper older camera)

This is the car when I arrived.

CCW 505's

With these CCW 505's being bare polished aluminum, a wheel cleaner that is pH balanced is very crucial. So for this car, I opted to use Sonax Full Effect. It is an amazing wheel cleaner and is safe for all types of wheels.

While letting the Sonax work on the brake dust, it will begin to turn a redish color to let you know that it working and reacting with the iron particles.

To agitate the brake dust, I used the 2in Wheel Woolie. It's nice and thin and gets deep into the wheels.

Next the car was foamed and washed using a 100% sheep skin wash mitt.

After that, the car was dried off and pulled in for claying and taping off the plastic trim.

For this car I used the Griot's 6in DA and LC Cyan pad with Megs M105 compound for the cutting stage and LC tang pad and M205 for polishing.

The next few pictures will be some 50/50 shots and before and after's.

Here you can notice the passenger headlight has been buffed and polished versus the driver side has not.

The taillights were just as bad as the paint and needed some attention too

After everything was polished, the paint was then sealed with one coat of Black Fire Wet Diamond.

By the time I finished up the car it was almost midnight and I couldn't take any final sun shots. I knew I had to get day time pictures for you guys, so a few days later, I called up a couple of photographers I knew in the area and arranged a photo shoot. I drove my NSX and one of the photographers drove his R33 Skyline and then of course we had the Supra there. So here are a few pics from the trip to the shoot and at the shoot. and Thanks to Brennan McKissick-Photography and Hurst Photography for coming out on such Short notice.

soooooooo nice love that car. any kid who was 16 when the fist fast and furious came out fell in love with the supra.

Awesome work Eric! Nice save on an amazing car! I always love when people use pro photographers for the final pics too. ;)

a little OT, but I'll never understand why Toyota stopped making these cars and the Celica....same goes for Honda and the NSX, Prelude, Interga, Legend....

Oh yeah, how could I forget that one! I had a '91 Si in white that I had my old man repaint and add a coat of blue pearl over it...man I miss that car too! :(

Again, Great work bro! :dblthumb2:

I own a C6z06... But a Nsx & R33 skyline are still my dream cars....awesome work btw

Great stuff here!

Awesome cars.

If I remember correctly there was a ripple affect when they stoped producing the 300ZX
that was followed by the RX7 then the Supra then the NSX

Great job! I love those cars and the photo with all 3 on the highway is awesome

When I got my leathers permit to drive one of my parents friends had a 92 Supra turbo and he would come by and take me driving. It was a blast. Once I got my license he asked me if I could go with him to pick it up from the shop. He let me drive it home... Nothing like the feeling of boost on a turbo car.

soon enough r32 skylines will be legal to import.....i wonder if that skyline is a motorex one or was imported as parts from canada...wish i had one.

Its a R33 which is pretty much almost fully US legal if you want one.

The car looks great Eric, as usual. I do like supras but that skyline....special place in my heart for one. Keep it up!

From reading the NICO club forums, skyline owners are running into government issues mainly due to paper work and cars not being "legit" to sell. I don't know a ton of details but it seems a lot of owners are having the cars repo'd

Have you never read up on the MotoRex scandal?

motorexstory - tyndago

The short? MotoRex did the foot work to make it emissions compliant in California (thee most strict state in the USA) and did the bumper bumper crash test. Each imported cars where to be fitted with the emissions work and crash test safe bumpers to US Standards but they skipped that part.

The rest of the story sounds like a plot for a Fast And the Furious movie. Its pretty wild how things got out of hand.

Also as far as the cars go the R32 will be legal as a grey import car in three years (1989 cars). But ATM the R32 and R34s are illegal ATM and the only one actually legal the R33. This is the reason why most Skyline GT-Rs are being pulled by the feds and being crushed; which IMO is a shame and our government is pig stupid for doing so.
