1928 Model A Coupe - Detailing Class Wetsanding Project

Here's another one of the cars my class will get to work on in the September 2013 Detailing Boot Camp Class.

This is an all steel, 1928 Model A Coupe with a small block Chevy engine. This car was recently repainted using a single stage Urethane paint and my class will get to learn how to wetsand and use rotary buffers on this hotrod.

You just never know what you're going to get to work on when you attend one of my detailing boot camp classes but history shows it's always something cool that most people will never have the opportunity to work on outside these classes.

The hotrod Model A has arrived for the Detailing Class this weekend!

Who here has buffed out a real Model A?

These are actually a little tricky to buff out.

:)

Here's two pictures of the Model A we just finished wiping the Dodo Juice Supernatural Wax off of after sanding and buffing the paint.

I'll start a pictures and comments thread for it tomorrow. The guy that owns the Porsche here also owns this Model A.

And the 1956 Chevy we buffed out today also came out really nice...

Re: Sign-up: 1928 Model A - Show Car Makeover

Mike, another great learning experience last night. Had never wet sanded with a machine before and I think I may have finally learned to pick up my bead without splattering everyone. Thanks for being so patient with us. Den

Hey Den you did great! As did everyone...

As I said last night, sanding and buffing the Model A body style is actually kind of tricky and even difficult compared to most other cars because of all the edges, molded in body ribs, etc.

I just walked by the car as we left it in the studio and it looks absolutely marvelous!

Thanks for all you help and hard work because the paint on thing looks smooth and dripping wet!
