1937 Ford Street Rod Paint Correction

This detail was a little different, because I wasn't getting paid. However, this was for my dad and his regular attendance of local car shows should be excellent advertising for my business.

The car was reasonably clean as all of our cars are garage kept.

After a quick waterless wash (it was night time and 30 degrees or less outside).

Condition of the paint.

Deep sanding scratch above the back glass that was removed completely.

On to the paint correction (after compounding only).

Truck lid before.

After.

Fender before.

After.

Scratch before.

After.

After final polishing.

This is what the car looks like after, but I had only done the paint and hadn't touched anything else.

Perhaps you noticed my uncle's car in the background with the holograms. This car is next on the list, and I think a giant orange billboard driving down the road will be an excellent advertisement. Not to mention, I need a car to drive to shows myself.

Both of the cars were restored by the same person, but as you can see the orange Cyclone is in much need of some polishing work. Polishing my dad's car was a nightmare. There are places on the car that are almost impossible to get to, so I wasn't in the mood to take many pictures. However, I will post a much more in-depth write up when I do the Mercury Cyclone in the next couple weeks.

I used FG400 on a microfiber cutting pad and SF4000 on a finishing pad with my Rupes 21 and the lhr75.

We also have another 1969 Mercury Cyclone like the orange one, that is a different edition. Once both cars are polished, I will post the write-ups and get some decent pictures of both cars together. That will be something you won't see every day.

Also, I received my Flex pe14 that I ordered this weekend and tried it out on the hologram ridden car. I was amazed at the correction ability of the machine, but also how controllable it was. I was able to achieve the cut and finishing ability in one step that would have taken me multiple steps and much longer with any of my other polishers.

Not too shabby for my first time with a rotary? That is a before and after of Menzerna PF2500 on what is the equivalent of a LC white polishing pad (and an IPA wipe-down). I could never get results like that out of a DA polisher.

Needless to say, I instantly fell in love with this polisher and my only wish is that I had purchased it sooner. I appreciate your honest reviews of the polisher that ultimately led me to purchase it.
