Great job man - never thought of using the steamer to remove the leftover residue....... may be a dumb question, but the heat from the steam has no effect on the quality of the finished product?!?!?! May try this out - normally do the toothbrush method lol. Great job again man :dblthumb2:

Bob, First great job on both vehicles I love your write ups as I can see you must of been in the military and are as anal as myself.

B&b Just make sure you remove residue before applying your lsp, it will have no effect on the quality of the finish but it will remove most waxes

Yes I was in the Navy(Early eighties to mid eighties, 26 years ago................oldness I am). The steam breaks up the hard compounds and allows for thorough clean up with non-marring specialty brushes utilized after that.

My job in the Navy was a MS(Cook.......glamorous I know, wanted to be a SEAL but I was not near good enough for that program and OUT to the fleet I went. Worked on a Admiral staff and for the Captain of my Ship as his cook so I had to keep everything running like a four star hotel, sometimes the job sucked but other times I was able to see and do things the rest of the crew could not because I took care of the CO so well.. not a** kissing mind you just being "Squared away" and being myself.

On another note Joe @ Superior was a GI rine(Marine lol) would be interested who on the board is prior military(Know of Barry and Marc/Auto lavish who was in combat over "There in the s**t") who deserves our highest respect in this aspect!!!!!.

I have no doubt you were a high speed low drag squared away cook keeping that program running like a 4 star hotel. I know one thing, you probably had a ton of friends on the ships, at least the cooks I've talked to over the years did. I was briefly a 91r in the army and got to come on board a few ships since the navy doesn't have food inspection as an mos, but got bored at the commissaries so I swapped over to an 11b until I realized that there are to many politics in todays military and got out to start my passion, cars and dialing them into perfection

I know one thing, you probably had a ton of friends on the ships, at least the cooks I've talked to over the years did. I was briefly a 91r in the army and got to come on board a few ships since the navy doesn't have food inspection as an mos, but got bored at the commissaries so I swapped over to an 11b until I realized that there are to many politics in todays military and got out to start my passion, cars and dialing them into perfection

Needless to say I was able to "Get things done" with the quickness as I was quite good at baking desserts after awhile........and used this to gets things done for the Admiral and Captain I worked for such as laundry/ship's store snacks/magazines/ also custom made rack for my oven which adjusted for the ships rolling made by a talented HT(welder) so my pies and cakes would not look like poop.

The longer I am out the better time it was in my memory...........but I spent alot of time "Haze grey and underway" and when I met my wife she did not adjust well to me being overseas and I left when my enlistment was up.
