Not a lot of pictures as I initially thought that this detail would take me 1 day. It turned into 2 days so I tried to be as focused as I could during.

This car (I didn't ask much about it) took 10 months to build. EVERYTHING IS NEW. It has a very nice stereo, disc brakes, over 130HP, alcantara headliner etc...

Super nice owner and if the car was indeed finished tonight, it starts the show circuit tomorrow am.

Paint and body was done by SANDY AUTO BODY. Excellent work as usual, but with all the assembly work, these guys who helped build the car are not Autopians for sure. There were a couple of RIDS that I couldn't get out unless parts of the car was to be taken off and of course that was out of the question. Otherwise I did the best I could to make it stand out in the crowd.

This panel looked the worst but tight places ended up taking a lot longer to correct.

The paint was good to work on, but as with all blue paint, it can mar pretty easy.

No joke, i dream of one day polishing an old school beetle like that one day. Their curves make the gloss seem so damn crazy. Good work man! mind sharing what your process was? :xyxthumbs:

wow! that's one shiny and glossy beetle. looks like it'll suck you and bring you into another dimension.

NICE!!!

I realllly miss the 'real' VDubs...just sumthin' about 'em I liked.

Bill

Nice save!

The swirls and scratches installed during the build, (after paint), is just part of the process, some guys are bolt-on guys, some guys are polish guys and the bolt-on guys usually don't the difference between a swirl and a squirrel....

Cool old Bug... we had a really nice on on our TV show, very customized and no trailer queen,

Dang! I am a true to the heart Bublehead! and that Bug is no joke! I love those wheels, do you by chance know what they are?

Thanks everyone!

Mike, that red bug looks beautiful.

I think this car will be trailed to car shows out of state but driven locally. I think.

congrats again - another master piece by tdekany

what a rescue

I think - u do need a 911(Porsche) to chase when it is trailered

thanks Mike for yr pics

WOW! What a difference in the before and afters. I can never understand how they can care about the mechanicals, then pay for a nice paint job, and do their best to ruin it putting it together.

I was hoping for at least one engine shot.:Picture:

nice save! some nasty holagrams on that beetle! i would like to restore one as well:)
