1977 Corvette Project: Before, During, After.. 3 Yrs in the making

After 3 Yrs and lots of $$, the 1977 Corvette is done. The finishing touch was the $400 I spent this month from AG. Today I used DP Auto Bath with a touch of ONR in the mix, XMT fine swirl #2, and then 3M Performance Finish, both with the PC 7424XP. DP Krystal vison glass cleaner, and Megiars Hot Shine Tire Gel. I am still a novice at the detailing game, but I am getting the hang of it. Here are some pics. Enjoy!

Looks Good! You can definitely sink a lot of money into a restoration project.
 
I've always heard "that'll buff out" and kind of laughed at...
But DANG! It really did buff right out. :D

hate the old stringray edition vettes...but thats clean...literally!

how many panels did you have to replace from rust? also still the original 350 in it?

What panels are you referring too most are fiberglass ??If the engine is original matching number it could be a L48 or a L82
 
took you the same amount of time to do that as iutll take to do my bike, lol... but im in no hurry!! def a sweet resto!!!
 
Very nice restoration. I'm sure you felt real satisfaction after it was completed. Now have go have some fun with it.:xyxthumbs:
 
The car is a stock 350 L-48 motor. It was a one owner (female) car that sat on the side of the house for a few years, only 56K miles. The body was stripped down to the bonding strips and re-glassed. There was some corrosion along the windshield pillars that was ground out and re-welded. There is no rust on the car which is a big plus.
The car sits outside (unfortunately) under a good cover (wolf). What do you guys recomend to use to keep the gloss high and the maintanence low? Thanks for all of the nice comments, it feels good after all of the bloody knuckles and sweat.

What a fantastic restoration. The vette looks like it just came off the showroom floor. Great job.
