Hey all,

Took two years of detailing daily drivers part-time(seasonal here in Wisconsin) before I got a chance to clean up a cool truck. '79 F100 - mostly original other than the LED headlights, dual exhaust, and bench seat. It was repainted a few years ago - basecoat/clearcoat - still fun to work on...

Hi/low beam - sadly, I'm old enough to remember this...

Wolfgang Uber WW on exterior and bed of truck, then machine polished with Blackfire One Step. The owner drives it all summer long - not a garage queen so he didn't opt for a multi-step

Love these older vehicles - no fancy body lines and black exterior trim...just big flat panels and chrome.
Grabbed the Flex 3401, LC Hybrid white pad, and got down to business

Cool truck and great work all around. But the bed before and after was a WOW moment, very nice!

Awesome truck and great work! The before and after of the bed should be in the same picture to really show the difference.

I love the "power windows" and "infotainment" captions for those pictures. I definitely get nostalgic for simple vehicles.

Have any pictures showing the full truck?

Wow!

I vote BEST Truck Bed Extreme Makeover for 2018!

For anyone that doesn't know, Dave attended the Autogeek Roadshow Class last summer in Oconomowoc, Wisconsin where he was able to use ALL THE COOL TOOLS, pads and products and work on a wide range of cars.

Thanks for sharing Dave and impressed to see you use the acronym, SIV

SIV = Special Interest Vehicle

I actually liked those hi-beam switches on the floor, for auto trans vehicles, anyway.

That is the one thing I think needs to be upgraded on classic cars are the lights, they are horrible to see. Maybe we could get led lights that look like the old ones? The would last longer too

Thanks all for the feedback...much appreciated. Best feeling in the world when the owner shows up, walks around the vehicle, and can't believe the transformation. Priceless! No doubt most of you have experienced this too.

Yes, I was at Lake Country Mfg last summer for the Roadshow class. I STRONGLY encourage anyone who's serious about learning the art of polishing paint to take this class. It cost me money but I made money on the F100 :)

BTW, have yet to figure out how to make my photos larger so they are included as part of the thread and not just thumbnails.

Have a great Memorial Day Wknd....to our military folks...thank you for your service!

David

Nicely done! That's a cool truck and now it has a finish that it deserves!
