Had a repeat client drop off his original 1986 BMW 325 ES for a make over. With only 88k miles on the clock the original interior is immaculate. The original single stage paint needed some help to say it lightly. Before dropping off I had him visit my paintless dent guy to go over it and get it straightened out. The plan here was to get the paint corrected and coated.

Prep/Decon

Ammo Frothe, Nanoskin fine grade towel

Correction- Rupes 21 mm Mark ll, B/S Uro wool, Fast correcting cream. Adams swirl killer mini, B/S uro wool.

Finish polishing- Rupes 21 mm Mark ll, B/S yellow pad, Hyper polish. Adams swirl killer mini, B/S yellow

LSP- IGL Poly 1 year coating

Flawless, J! Beautiful work on that old Bimmer.

Great work on that "hit" black paint!

I really like those mesh wheels too, such a compliment compared to the smallish rims that came on the car, he nailed it there

Yes sir yes sir! Amazing!

Well done good sir! That black paint oozes with gloss. Nicely done. The black rear bumper trim not take dressing very well?

Keep up the good work!

Really great work! It’s impressive to me how deep and glossy that 30+ year old paint can look. It’s almost mirror like in some of those pictures.

Wow! Awesome work and write up and pictures Justin as always!

That's it I'm going to be a IGL installer so I can get my hands on that Poly LOL. But the hard work you do at polishing it to a high level!

How is it with SS paints quality and able to be polished from the 80s vs 50s-60s? And if both is in good condition and not so dried out.

Seems like BMW has used a great quality of the paint for a long time. The prices of these late 80s has been going up fast in the later years. Many younger people had these as beater cars here 5-10 years ago. And now they have reached classic car status. Nice to see a well taken care of bimmer!

Crazy!!! :urtheman:

Justin my friend, that is actually a crazy result! Man that looks outstanding, some of those pictures are mesmerising. Absolutely outstanding mate. Bravo!!! :props:

Thanks for sharing.

Thanks bud! Poly works good on single stage from my experience. It can be a little bit tricky but still user friendly.
