Client has this vehicle up for sale and was also looking to take it to our local Cars&Coffee, Cars&Coffee239. Wanted a 'quick' cleanup. Nice example, clean, original, honest car. Single stage paint was a treat to work with!

The ‘details’:

McKee’s37 N914 waterless wash.
Medium clay bar/Dodo born slippery lube.
Defelsko PTG’s/Scangrip lighting.
Hercules FR polisher (first hiccup with this machine-power cable appears to be either broken/or coming loose-I need to open it up to see what’s going on and perhaps get another one under warranty hopefully)
LC pads.
Rupes UNO one step.
Adam’s glass cleaner.
Adam’s graphene tire dressing.
Metro vacuum.
Adam’s quick interior detailer.


































 
Stunning results, that red is glowing, but I have to say, they are not a pretty car, personal opinion.

I had to do some googling as well, that mirror sticking out looks bizarre, I've never noticed that on Testarossas before, but I see that some have "normal" type mirrors, some have one high sticking out, others have two high ones. I see the need for it though, with those super wide hips.

Thank you!!! Yes, they switched to 2 'normal' mirrors mounted lower later on. This model is allegedly more desirable to collectors...
 
Scott, the paint looks like it's plugged into an outlet

Btw I posted some of usual FuelFed pics and there were a pair of GT3's there from Florida, one a GT3 while the other was a GT3RS Weisn (not going to try and spell it)

A Testarosa from that generation was a poster on my bedroom wall for over a decade until I moved out on my own. I still have a scale model on a shelf in my home office. Love the look of that car.

The single stage paint was a surprise. I thought by that time Ferrari would have been using a clear coat. What was it like polishing out the all those side strakes?

Oh...and the car looks amazing! You rolled back the clock back to factory fresh with all your hard work.

Strakes are the most time consuming part--majority done by hand. Yep, the other Rarri's of that era that I've done were all SS paint.

I'm with Big Dave, that car is not my cup of tea; however, you did an amazing job as always

Curious about the pads you used, how clean were you able to get them?
 
thanks chill. i have learned to just pitch my pads after SS use. used about 1 pad per panel.

Beautiful turn around my friend!

A friend of mine did a maroon 90's probe but it was SS. It turned his yellow Megs polishing discs GREEN! HA!

He's still churning and burning his though.

Great work as always!!! My quustion is when you see the color of the paint come off on the pad is the thin cost failure? I've only had it on black cars and just assumed it was oxidation.r was it a red pad?
 
^^^^ pad was white and used yellow too if i remember.

no, on this particular vehicle, the paint was single stage--no clear coat on it at all.
 
Done a few corsa red ferraris and all SS paint. I go through twice as many pads!

Beautiful work, Scott, as usual.
