I had the pleasure of working on this car today
The car: 1 of 28 ever made IROC-Z28 1LE and 1 of 4 in red; the car has 10k miles it's immaculate, and still smells new. The interior, engine bay are in excellent shape (and it's for sale!)
The car was in storage somewhere else, and they didn't do a good job keeping untouched. So the owner brought it home, and his son who's a friend of mine called me to ask me if I was interested in detailing it...of course I gladly accepted :D
I got there this morning to look at the car. The battery was dead it was already hooked up to a chaerger, but no luck, so the owner helped me push it out to wash outside, and then pulled back in for the detail

The process:
The main thing was to work on the swirls, and give it a good buff
-Foam gun with P21S Bodywork Shampoo
-Clayed with Detailing Dynamics Claybar
-50-50 Wipedown
-Prima Swirl/3.02 Sonus Swirl Buster Orange Pad and LCS Yellow Pad PC5-6
-Followed with 106FF and LCS 5.5" Orange Pad PC 5
-XMT-360 Wolfgangs White Polishing Pad PC 4.5
-XMT-180 Meguiars Finishing Pad, and Sonus Blue Finishing Pad
-Prima Hydro as Pad primer
-Klasse AIO on headlight black bezel, wheels and door jams

Interior: 1Z Cockpit Premium (love this stuff!)
Engine bay: Adams In & Out Spray (forgot after pics :o )
Stoners IG on windows
Cobra Indigo MF Towels

Looks awesome goose !! Thanks for the memories of the IROC :)

Thank you kindly!
I used to have a 91 RS V8 Third Gen; but man, I really liked this one. Nice car indeed :)

Those things are still cool more than fifteen years later. By the way how did you like Prima swirl? How much cut does it have?

Man that's a sweet IROC, I love how they look. Great job on the detail! The red paint looks nice and wet. I can't believe that car has 10 k miles only... my 92 Galant has 200k on the body :p

man I wanted one of these when graduating HS in '89. I ended up buying a Formula demo as price was perfect and a little less glitzy with same motor. Loved that car and you show nice work on the one above. Back then it was Mothers Three Step as car was black and nobody knew better.

I like the Prima Swirl. They're based here in Denver, and I stop by once in a while to pick up stuff. As far as the cut, I'd say it's a 3 on the scale of 1 to 5, pretty similar to the MIP...

Thanks Scott. The owner has a 35th Anniv. Camaro, and a Porsche he wants me to do next week. He had a Mallet Corvette for sale on the CF not too long ago that he sold to a guy in NY and it's being picked up today. I saw it, nice car too!

The paint came out very nice. I really like that XMT 360/180 combo, really glossy finish...

Weren't they?! :) They were getting killed by the 5.0 Mustangs back then :D

exactly what I was thinking.I was a mustang guy back then and I would always spank those irocs.(305's made no power)

Beautiful work my friend, that is my brother's favorite bodystyle Camaro!

By the way, funny you mention Prima as I was at Carquest yesterday and they had a ton of it for sale. Was tempted to buy some, but I don't really know anything about 'em...

Hmm?! I wasn't aware, or even sure Prima is sold at Carquest...

Didn't the Iroc z-28 have a TPI 350? Was there a regular Iroc with a 305? I had a RS that had a 305 (slow like mentioned).
