Just had my 91 Comanche painted.
is it my daily driver and I still use it as a truck.
I've owned it for 6 years and the factory paint and Clear coat was peeling off the hood and roof and had typical scratches and small bumps around top of bed rails. I bought a factory camper shell for it a while back so I also had to color matched.
I am a mechanic by trade and had been trading work with a small body shop down the road so they gave me a good deal and it turned out great!
on the hood there were some small bumps they said it was solvent pop, they let it sit a day or 2 then wet sanded and buffed them out for the most part. looks amazing to most people I just see the very slight imperfections because i know that they are there... ocd i suppose
I reassembled the truck and have been driving it for about a month now. every time I wash it I notice more and more scrathes on the hood where they buffed it.
I have a griots garage da polisher and have tried using a combination of m105 or m205 and a few different pads, even up to my heavy cutting pads with no real effect. It makes me nervous because the pads turn red when I take them off the paint so I guess they used single stage. Is PPG Concept a single stage?
I just don't want to mess up what I got because it looks perfectly fine unless u look for the swirls, thanks to this site and the videos i know show cars dont have them but this is a daily driver.
ill take any advice and compliments I can get...
