I had done this awhile ago. I tried correcting the hood on our family car 1991 toyota corolla, its outside all the time sense we live in an apartment for the time being. I did everything by hand like all the others. it had some RIDs and a little Spider webs and so forth. the paint is clear coated except the rear bumper and side mirrors. but this is just a showing of the hood.

Things Used in order.

After washing without drying clayed the whole car with Megs OTC clay
Washed again

IPA Wipe Down

now what I need is for you AG friends is to give me some feedback Feed back please

And what would be a good wax to make the color pop more, and it is a metallic including the single stage areas. that will be covered by Megs#7 and what not doing steps on mikes single stage paint write up.

thanks for looking!

looks like good work! It's hard to tell with the color of the car, but I can tell theres some 50/50 shots in there. Nice work! I wish the pictures were a little bigger though :l I'm a sucker for reflection shots

yeah i def need to work on getting better angles and everything maybe some better 50/50 shots, ive been seeing alot more people writing on the tape point to what is what, and yeah i gotta get the size thing down too. thanks for your feedback.

yeah all my work is done by hand. :) been like that for years. im going to be doing the whole car here in the next week to winterize it. hopfully i will have time to do a write up. there are things i want to tackle on it .

Anyone know of a good wax or sealant to use on this color.

What do you have?

By the way, nice work considering you're working by hand.

At this point in time, where it it doesn't actually take a lot of skill to remove swirls using a DA Polisher, just follow the basics here, it still takes a lot of skill, muscle and patience to remove swirls and scratches by hand.

M105 and UC make doing this type of work faster and with results that make it look like you just waxed the car.

But still... removing small particles of a paint in a controlled manner to remove defects by leveling the surface while not leaving any scratches behind in the process is an art form...

:)

I have Liquid Sol, megs gold class paste wax, and i think some nxt wax somewhere, i am in the middle of growing that into a longer list where do-do juice fits in and others so i have more to pick from plus some that i can layer.

i remember polishing by hand for the first time or maybe it was the second time, i focused on an area too much and you could see a dimple where i had stayed at too long. i wish i had a picture to show of it.
