1996 850R=Extreme detail IN PROGRESS(PIC HEAVY)

So my customer decided that he is going to start collecting the Volvo 850R's and I am going to be the one detailing them after the last one came out so nice. He called me up and told me he has another one , so here it is...

Im not going to do a step by step write up as there is too much so ill just list the products used.

TIRES AND WHEELS

CG grime reaper
CG red hot degreaser

CG citrus wash and gloss

Wolfgang deep gloss paint sealant

The wheels turned out great. Typically v36 and v38 are enough but to bring out v32, the paint must have been pretty bad. Waiting to see how the interior turns out. Looks really good so far.
 
Any reason he's collecting these cars? Are they any special??

I wish I had the funds to collect 850 Rs! I've got a '96 GLT wagon and my DD is an '05 S60 T5. Did he do the auto/manual swap? As far as I know there weren't any 850s with turbos that came the U.S. with manuals.

Try to find a 850R with a manual transmission in good condition. It's hard these days. Also if you find a creme yellow, you gotta a rare one.

He practically stole this one at 1,000$ and its a perfect running manual car

No this came 5 speed.....they are just hard to find.

Less than 200 T5-R's were imported into America. So some of the 850 models are worth more than you would think.
 
None of them came to the US with manual transmissions. They all came w/ slow 4-speed autos. This one either came from Canada or it was swapped from a base, non-turbo model donor. Totally transforms it. True sleeper.

Look forward to the rest of the pics for total transformation. Like to see how the interior turns out w/ the worn alcantara.

I am a little worried about the suede....hopefully it comes out decent, but the seats look tired

And you my friend are correct....it was swapped from auto to manual I just found out :xyxthumbs:
 
never knew about these cars. How much does a nice condition one usually sell for?
