Thanks,
That's a "safety check" sticker that's required in Hawaii. Self-explanatory, we take it to a certified station and get checked to make sure all basic functions are working properly (blinkers, lights, horn, tires inflated properly, etc).

Wow those metallics are popping, and the paint looks nice and wet :D. Don't worry bout the flab, mine are worse  . So how do you like that Pete's 53? The new RX's are looking good.

Nice car! And the color is just fantastic!! :D The metallics is popping like pop corn bro :D Lexus is a great car!

mmmmm....Lexus...very nice. I like the first picture which shows the emblem. I like the color too, very nice. That paint is POPING like crazy, flake city.

The picture with the flab is wicked, I wish it was that hot here....but I'll take the good weather we have been having.

You did a good job on that Lexus, the paint looks really good. Nice depth and it looks wet, very nice. I'm assuming it's new, does it have scratches/swirls? Just wondering.

Thanks for sharing your Lexus

Thanks to everyone for the kind words.

Nica, yes, it is new and no swirls (knock on wood). Before I started detailing w/ a pc, I had it detailed by a pro. Clay, sealed. I didn't think it was a "professional" job as he went pretty fast with the pc. So, after much reading, I took the plunge, bought the pc, and this is the end result.

Good for you tod071 :applause: , I got the Lexus GX 470 and I wouldn't let anyone near my baby. I rather do it my self and take my time and do things properly.

The way you take care of it, it will continue looking new for a long time. Good job Lexus buddy  .

Good for you to have the courage to try. Not only is it almost guaranteed that you will do a better job yourself (because usually time is not an objection) but you will garner immense satisfaction in getting the results by yourself. It's not rocket science although forums like this have made it easier for so many to jump on board the detailing wagon. Again..good job and congrats.:awesome:

Looks good! That's one sweet ride! By the way, always wanted to as a hybrid Lexus owner (as I'm not in a market for a hybrid Toyota, NO WAY) is it really worth investing into hybrid? Obviously gas is expensive, but didn't you pay more for the car at the dealership (sticker price)? How dependable is it, and how long will it take for that hybrid difference to pay off?

TIA.

That is one SEXY car. I think that's one of my favorite detail's I've seen. I mean, not lile a huge turnaround, but the way the metalic is popping, the color, and the style of the car is just pure beauty.

I LOVE those Lexus SUV Crossover's. One of my favorite vehicles on the road.

I actually paid 42k (before the 2k tax credit) for my 06RXh, so they're not as inflated as people portray it. You should start looking now, wait til about Sept/Oct when the new models come in, and get a deal on an 07.
As far as reliability, the only servicing that needs to be done is regular maintenance on the gas engine. The battery has an 8yr/100k warranty and is virutally maintenance free. I have about 11k on mine and haven't taken it to the dealer since I bought it. Just a couple of oil changes, tire rotation, and topping of fluids, following the maintenance book.

Looks great! nice car too - how is the gas mileage? avg? Thanks...
I get about 27-28mpg. Might not sound like much if you're comparing it to a compact car, but my brother's older RX300 used to get 19mpg.

That is some very nice work Tod071! I haven't ever tried Pete's on metallic paint but after seeing how it pops on your Lexus, I'm going to!!!

Your Lexus looks really good!! Love the deep color and reflections! And also like everyone else has said...........That's some crazy poppin' flakes you got!!!

OK, this had me wondering for awhile. Then Nica added, "The picture with the flab is wicked". That really threw me! I was then wondering what part of the car is the "flab"?! Is it some slang for something to do with the lights? Then while I carefully looked at the picture, I spotted it. :D But I didn't see "flab". I saw a man who enjoys a good meal!!
Here's my "good meal" reflection.......but covered by a shirt. :D So don't feel bad!!

ha ha ha! Thanks for all the supportive replies! I actually should have put the disclaimer and rated it R for graphic scenes and partial nudity instead of the "flab"!

I like the Pete's better than Natty's Blue. After reading other threads and experiencing 1st hand, the Natty's actually does matte the flakes. Pete's brings it out. However, the CG5050 gives a wetter, more reflective look. Sooooo many choices and great products.
