So I have 2 super basic questions that you all probably get asked alot.

1) I have always hated cleaning my windshield because no matter how much I wipe and dry it always seems to be streaky or have some residue.

What is the best way to handle this?

I have used windex and a microfiber, but the best results I have gotten is with a slightly wet chamois

2) I am always careful when applying wax and polishes, BUT I wasnt thinking ahead and my buffer slipped and got compound on the flat plastic rocker panel trim on my wifes car.

I quickly went and sprayed a foam applicator with some armorall (Its not really armorall but I dont remember the brand) and then tried to remove the white staining, didnt work, so I tried wheel dressing, looked like it worked, but the next day most of the greyish stains came back.

Thanks!

I've used Stoner's with different microfibers and even paper towels with no streaking. Are you sure the streaks are on the outside? Last time I had a streaky/cloudy windshield, I cleaned it three times with no luck. It wasn't until I cleaned the inside that my issue went away ;)

Waffle weave towels and Sonax glass cleaner are my go to for clean, streak free glass. And goof off works great to remove wax residue from plastic. Just be sure to clean off the goof off afterwards as it can dry out some plastics if left to dwell for to long.

if you get wax on plastic use a pink block school eraser. with a little elbow grease it's gone for good.

Not all waxes with stain rubbers and plastics. A better quality product might be your answer. I believe the white residue comes from fillers in cleaning waxes. Maybe someone else can confirm this or explain what does it if it's not fillers.

For exemple, in he case of synthetic waxes (Sealants) Nu Finish is a great product that has excellent durability and decent shine. It stains any plastic or rubber and it's really hard to get it off.

On the other hand, PowerLock doesn't stain, nor does X-Press Spray Wax.

So yes you can go through the trouble of masking everything everytime, or you can choose a product that will not create the problem in the first place. As a bonus you can protect all the plastic and rubber without having to do a separate step.

Ammo also has a great how to for cleaning glass.

I have used stoners glass spray and I also like the Armor-all safe for all windows glass cleaner. (note this is the only thing from Armor I use anymore,,) Windex is fine for your bathroom but I have found its not the best for your cars. + it has an ammonia base that is not good for tinted glass.

Thanks guys, I will try these out, every time I go outside and see the white marks on the plastic on my wifes car, it bugs the crap out of me, haha.

I will try out the eraser first then move up

And the window is streaked and dirty on the inside, but thats where I was trying to clean it from, sorry I didnt specify, I can get the outside pretty clean/streak free, but the inside is such a pain.
I will try some of those out
