OK, so maybe this just confirms my OCD nature, but whenever I see a janitor anywhere mopping a floor, they always have one mop and bucket and you see them slosh dirty water on the floor and mop it up. Makes no sense to me.
My garage floor was painted this year in a polyaspartic coating which I just love. I try to keep it clean, and it is definitely easier to do so. In fact, mopping it is my preferred method. It got me to thinking, why not employ a 2 bucket method to mop my floor? So, I mix up one pail with ONR and use it to dip the mop in and spread it around. (I will often add some DG FC & S to the mix too to amp up the glow). I then use the traditional mop bucket with the squeegee thing to wring out the mop. The clean bucket stays much cleaner than the one bucket method does and it seems to work much, much better. I just thought I would share this tidbit of info as I just finished doing an ONR wash on my Lincoln and had the used ONR water left (as well as having some more Vodka in my glass to finish) so I did my garage floor this way as well. I have actually done it this way before and meant to post it before, but just never got around to doing it. So, my drink is done now; it's almost 1 am and I am working dayshift tomorrow so I decided to take a minute to post this idea.
And yes, I know the thread is useless without pics, so here are 2 I blasted off on my i5:

I do the same thing Richy. Had to find other uses for the remaining 1/2 gallon of ONRv1 and 1.5 gallons of ONRv2.
I like the way it leaves my floors clean and grippy.

Same here! My neighbors laugh when they see me moping the garage floor. But deep down inside they envy my Epoxy-Coat floor, LoL.

Not as big as yours Richy, but I can still fit a small car in for some paint correction :D

Great stuff Richy. I use ONR now on my hardwood floors with a MF mop. I lightly spray it on with a spray bottle and wipe. It really does a great job of keeping them clean.

Thanks guys. Big Boi, your garage looks great too! Pat, I've heard that about the hardwood, but have yet to try it. I will now, thanks.

Looks great. Could you give some more information on that coating? We're doing our garage here pretty soon but haven't decided which coating to go with. Of course we want something very durable. Also, what's the dry time, etc.

I'm the manager of a deli/sub shop. We use a bucket and mop I found at a trade show one year. I don't even remember the brand right now but it has two sections. One for dirty water and one for clean solution. The partition in the middle can be lifted to drain the whole thing. I'll take some pics tonight when I get it out.

If you google "polyaspartic coatings" for your area, you should find out who does it locally to you. Compared to regular epoxy, it is 4X's stronger and the biggie is that it is UV resistant, unlike the epoxy. Dry time is also considerably better. There are many advantages to it. I had my installer bring it in specially for me. He had been doing epoxy jobs for years but hadn't tried the polyaspartic yet. He loved it too.

That sounds cool. I already have my 2 buckets so I'm set.

I'm doing the same richy. In my case the white race deck tiles would show a reddish film from the red clay in my area. It's worse this time of the year as the ground hardly dries. Two buckets and the cheap Zep APC always get it like new. When I'm feeling OCD'ish, I'll chase the wet floor with some towels by hand lol.

Oh, don't get me started on this. I also, many years ago, recognized the logic of a two-bucket method for floor mopping. Trying to get the people who mop the floors at work to recognize this logic is another matter. First I got a rig that had two separate buckets...and after a while I found they were just using the one bucket that had the wringer in it. Then I got a bucket like spiralout mentions...and I see the guy mopping the floor...then dipping the mop in the clean bucket before he wrung the mop. I think it was at that point I gave up rather than burst a blood vessel in my brain. I have a little Hoover hard floor vacuum gizmo that works pretty well.

Ditto that. I'm in the restaurant business and we use dual chamber mop buckets. Same principle as 2 bucket wash method.

We all must learn the hard way that:
"you can't fix stupid"

So hard to find good help these days... :willy:
