2 Gallons of Meg's Final Inspection $0.10

I got the same story on two gallons of Final Inspection. They said we could probably sell it for $15 a gallon and no less. It didn't make sense since it rang up at 5 cents. I ended up saying no thanks. It was funny to see three employees baffled by the price it rang up at. They didn't know what to do!

Anyone know how "mild" the Mirror Glaze blue mild clay is that's going for a nickel? I've used to OTC Meg's white clay that comes in the box with the QD. Is it about the same?

The blue clay is more aggressive - it's "mild" in comparison to their red clay.

Also, be careful when working with black or dark colored paints. I don't recommend using aggressive clay, unless needed. I scratched up an Audi a4 pretty badly, and it took several more compounding passes to correct. I have had very good luck with Mild clay, as it is much stronger than the product offered by the consumer line, and removed iron deposits and brake dust on white paint quickly.

I wonder if Advance is discontinuing M105 and M205 also? It is not listed on their website anymore. Did anyone happen to do a price check on either one of those products?

I priced checked them both, no sale prices, FYI

It seems like the stores that actually carry 105, 205, and the rest of that line (only about half AA's in my area do) have taken off the shelf, and you have to ask. But, the price went up I think! Over $40 for 32oz 105!

Called around to 5 different AAP's in the area and finally had some luck at the last one. Located 2 of each product about 45 min away and they honored the $.05 each.

Looks like i'm taking a drive :D

anyone wanna double their money????lol. I have been to two states worth of aa and cant find any fi or clay not even the small fi. Im the MAN

I believe I got the best deal out of anyone on here.. How much did it cost me? Not a damn penny.

Sales Associate: "Wow. That will be $0.22"

Me: (Pulls out a twenty) "Here you go" (Big Grin)

Sales Associate: "Really.. You don't have A quarter? Haha"

Me: "Haha yeah let me go check my ash tray."

Sales Associate: " Dude don't worry about it, it's only $0.22"

Me: "You da man"

So yeah, I got $120 worth of stuff FO FREE. My week is made, and I owe it all to the OP. Thanks!

Yup I went into an AA just yesterday hoping to grab some FI with no luck, only to see M105 and M205 at almost 40 bucks a pop. There's another place local that has them for about 28.00 a piece for the 32oz.

First post here. Just thought I would share my experience. I went into Advance Auto parts today for some power steering fluid. Noticed the #34 sitting on the clearance rack and remembered reading this thread. I take the gallon up to the register with my bottle of power steering fluid and sure enough, the #34 rings up $.05!!! The parts jockey behind the counter turns to some other employee and says something in spanish....The guy walks to the counter, looks me dead in the eye and says "No, sorry I cannot make the sale. The price is wrong." I pointed at the screen and said, thats the price. Its not my responsibility to make sure you people price the items correctly. Thats what Im willing to pay. He shakes his head and again, refuses to sell me the bottle.

Ive spent countless thousands of dollars on parts, fluids, filters and other items in that store for many many years. Today was the last time I will be setting foot in that store or any other Advance Auto Parts store. So unfortunately my experience was not quite as good as many others here.

autozone is no different here in so. california, their service is terrible and they're over-priced as well. i haven't bought anything from there in a good while and they won't receive any of money anytime soon...

Just got back from AA with my $.05 #34. I spoke with a manager and explained in a most convincing way that he was to sell me the gallon for the listed $.05 or I was going to take his name and go as high up as was necessary to make sure that I got what I wanted while making sure to let the regional or district manager how he conducts business with customers in the store. So as I said, I just got home with the gallon of #34. The guy at the counter that checked me out couldnt have been more sarcastic or rude wither. I will not be going back into that store unless I absolutely have to. What a mission...

Woah, you do realize their official policy is to actually destroy the items right? The 5 cents is just because they need it to ring up as something and you round up. That's why some people have been able to buy while others haven't. You think the people working there wouldn't want you to get a deal? Had you decided to take it higher up you'd have gotten an official response of sorry we have to send it back or destroy it. I'm pretty sure the workers would rather follow policy and rules.

Threatening people with repercussions tends to bring out rudeness.

Their policy is absolutely no concern of mine. My issue was that there was a product on the shelf priced at $.05. They refused to sell the product to me initially based solely on their assumption that the price "had to be wrong". That didnt fly with me so I simply told the manager that if he wasnt willing to sell me the product at the listed price I would be forced to go above him until I found someone that was willing to honor their price.

How the "workers" there feel about me getting a deal or not is inconsequential to me or the situation. I dont think they care one way or another. Ive dealt with almost all of the employees that work the counter at this particular store and the education level is middle school at best. Im sure they have enough trouble tying their shoes, no left over brain power to be concerned with a customer getting a good deal or not. I respectfully disagree with you about the official response you think I would have been given had the manager decided to refuse the sale again. Im like a customer service patience tester. I can assure you that I would have at the very least been given a gallon of the #34 for the listed $.05

Either way it doesnt matter now. I got what I wanted and that is all that matters to me. Best of luck to you guys in your deal searching!

I know this thread is months old but has anyone been able to snag this deal recently? Didn't see this posted until now and was wondering if it was worth stopping by an advanced auto in the next few days.

Nope. It's done.
