20 ways you waste money on your car

Great long term test and review. Did you ever tell your sister you did this? Didn't she ever wonder why there was a line done her hood and one side was clean and the other so dirty?

excellent write up! very cool pics!

Hi S2K
Thank you for your encouragements, she did kinda notice & wonder - but never really bother as she is busy with her master's studies & wedding - I only confess to her last month - I said sis - i need yr ride "she asked why?" for me to finish what i started 13 months ago - ta da.......our whole family LOL.....till now we still had a good LOL - when ever i mentioned her 3/4 full...cos i had a 2 face still

stay tune another 16 months paint study coming up soon

Very neat experiment, your sister is probably hoping you coat the whole car now.

yupp thats true now

many years ago when i started detailing
everyone of my friends, neighbors & immediate family think i hv gone nuts

I believe good works does pays off...I just spent 3 hours explaining to a fellow enthusiast - of DIY car care - & i dont fail to meet at least 1 or more a day.....(offering my availability to groom & equip them) making what is jargon simple enough for a kids.....

Just like Mike Phillips our mentor - stopping everyone literary that is not taking good care of their care + educating them

That is a heart of Gold - I can say satisfaction is guaranteed

This is a clear example of why we do what we do and why our vehicles are the envy of others. While I have enough products to outlast several lifetimes it's something that I enjoy doing and all my vehicles are a reflection of my obsession.

Awesome writeup KC and thank you for such an informative post!! :dblthumb2:

I must admit I lol'd with this "While I have enough products to outlast several lifetimes." So true so true.

Dang KC! Completely awesome. Very cool experiment. That difference is incredible!

thanks Dr Oldz for your kind words

awesome

I wonder why I haven't seen an infomercial for one of these coatings as yet. Only enthusiasts seem to know about them.

Are they that difficult to apply for the general public?
Thanks buddy, infact OPTIMUM coating is a professional range coating, where you need to fill up an indemnity form before Doc G releases to anyone, to qualify this, he want us to show him our works. as it is a permanent coating, only can be remove by wet sanding & compounding
Awsome thread, this should be shown to any of the haters that say waxing/sealing is pointless. Think i'll be getting some opticoat from AG, shame its not sold in the uk.
Thank UK matt...i agree thanks

This is really cool...cause I just Opti-Coated my car. I was hoping to read some durability threads but these pics give great comparisons about its protection. Like they say, a picture is worth a thousand words. :)

Thanks for sharing

Thanks fishnugget thanks for your kind words

wow!

Great job showing the benefits of opti-coat but I can't believe anyone would drive around with a car with the hood half clean/half dirty looking for 13 months. I'd be to embarassed.
thanks buddy, for your kind words, I either believe i actually delayed the correction

Great write up KC!!!! :xyxthumbs:

Great in depth review KC, always enjoy your detail write-up. Never thought the versatility of coating...

thanks nothelle for your kind words

Good job, great pictures, even though the color of your sister's car is white, your shots clearly showed the difference in the treated and un-treated areas. Thanks.

totally agreed

There's nothing better to put on a new car than Opti Coat. Best decision I ever made in terms of protecting my car against the elements...NOW throw in salt, harsh North East winters, and it becomes even more important.

This is one of the first reviews I've seen on Opti Coat over the LONG term...makes me smile even more...seeing is believing. Thanks again Dr G...and your awesome staff.

thanks silver fox for your kind words

KC's- Great long term review  I am amazed!

I have just recently (as in the past week) discovered the joys of Opti-Coat, it feels really good to have a visual representation of how much protection my cars are going to have over the coming years. Thank you! I will need to save this thread for future reference to show others.

Have to give credit to KC for taking the time, investing the money and doing an excellent write-up. With this being a long term comparison it shows dramatic differences.

I know this is an old post but I find it to be very interesting.
Looking at the 13 months later photo, I do see some staining on the coated side too but better than the uncoated side. I am wondering if the car is left unwashed for 13 months to get this dirty or still there is some occasional road side car wash by your sister?
As for the stain removal can OPC 1:3 remove the stain or do I need to clay? If I am not mistaken, polishing will remove the coating.
Thanks.
