So as detailers, usually our cars are the last ones to get loved on. Well today, that changed. I never have time to get to do my own car. This car I have owned since new and now it has over 230k on the clock. Car has been heavily built and also wax in GMhightech magazine once. So since I rarely have the time to deal with my own cars, I jumped at the chance to get s detail in. I started with a good wash using Meguiars ultimate wash. Then I clayed the paint with my clay mitt. The paint wasn’t in bad shape, but I started with Meguiars m105 and then moved to the m205. Once everything was leveled, I lathered on the McKees ceramic coating. Also the wheels were coated as well. Car turned out perfect!!!

Re: 2002 Pontiac Trans Am WS6 coated!!!

The entire auto industry achieved perfection with that car....

Drooling over here...

Excellent job!

Great looking TA. That car looks incredible for 230k miles. Glad you were able to get the time to do a thorough exterior detail.

I’ve got 8,400 miles on my 98 TA. Mine is pretty boring compared to yours, mine is an auto, no WS6 package. I never get a chance to drive it. I put around 250 miles on it last year. I’ll be listing mine this summer. Still has the original 20 year old tires on it.

Gorgeous! I'd like to make the jump to a Trans Am from my Z28. They just look so MEAN. I'm envious that you were able to buy it new.

There is only one problem........There is no 'Love' button for me to click!!!

8400 Miles only is pretty impressive. I have a 97 Camaro SS that I am considering selling with a whopping 19k miles. But when I see posts like this, it kinda rekindles the love for the 4th gen F body. These cars were so stylistically ahead of their time and still look fresh today.

I always loved the T/A look on the 4th Gens!!:props::buffing::applause:Im the MAN

I don't drive my 96 Z28 enough these days either - I'm hoping to solve that this summer - but at least I do have some time behind the wheel as it just crossed the 85K mark!:dunno::coolgleam:

Awesome! That paint looks incredible for the age/mileage. So deep, color is crazy, and wet/reflective. Super job on a bad @ss car, so cool that you are the orig owner!!

Beautiful car, always had a soft spot for that gen of camaros and Firebirds although the ws6 definitely takes the cake.

Curious- what's your process for cleaning the engine bay?

Since day 1, I always wash the engine bay when I wash the car. That way, it never gets dirty. For the motor, I use a simple APC and whatever wash that I’m using. The key is to never to a “maintenance “ clean on the engine bay. When you wash the car, wash the whole car!!

Thanks a lot!! I really have to be careful when polishing especially on the corners. The clear is getting pretty thin. Lol
