2000 Red BoxsterS

Husband wanted to get his wifes red Boxster detailed so he left it with me for a few days after it was serviced by the dealer.

Paint didn"t look that bad until after I washed all the dirt off. It had alot of marring as seen by these two pictures.

Black lambswool with Hyper at 1500 was my first step.

Green pad with HYper at 1400 came next.

White LC pad with OCP at 1400

Cyclo with PoliSeal and white pads. Some areas were done with blue finishing pad at 1000 rpm's.


I was a bit bummed today as it rained all day but I was able to get it outside for a few minutes and snapped off a few AFTER shots during a break in the rain. I was really hoping to get better sun shots but the clouds were not having any part of that.

The interior was your normal wear and tear, alot of grime from driving with the top down.

carpets were cleaned with my steamer and then extracted. Seats were cleaned and conditioned with Leathermaster products.

I also cleaned and treated the conv. top.

:applause: Man that is great. My wifes 2000 T&C van has the same paint condition. My 03 Lincoln has water spots. I can't wait to get me a quality polisher and the right cleaning materials. The pictures alone from everyone really hype me up.

Got ask you some serious questions .... I know you are an Optimum freak and thats cool. I have found the polishes to be quite nice, and dressings if you like more of a matte surface. What I dont get is your constant use of the Spray Wax , why ?? I have found absolutely no durability from it and that it really doesnt "add" to paint. Infact, I find that Duragloss 921 and even Finish Kare 425 are better looking products will same ease of use, and about the same durability.

Tell me more about the new Poli-seal also ?? I got a sample, and mine says carnauba on it. As such I have been relucant to try it, as I want and believed this product was sealant based and designed to go head to head with products like Klasse Twins and Werkstatt, if it truly is carnauba based (maybe it was changed at a later date??) then I dont see it holding pace with acrylic protection the other two offer.

Please LMK your thoughts ...

I use the wax (OCW) because it works great. I have been greatly satisfied with the overall look it gives me.

I have also been happy with the longevity. I get at least 2 to 3 months out of an application. I don't use it in conjunction with any other sealers, polymer or carnauba based. I use it as a stand alone.

Now the area of "longevity" is subjective for who knows if the product is still there? Beading alone can't be the determining factor, nor can slickness. A product may be still on the surface without those factors.....so it comes down to personal preference.

In regards to the PoliSeal. It is a polymer product, not acrylic (by the way, AIO has next to nil in terms of acrylic protection) with an added carnauba. The amount of carnauba added is very slight and only added so it will work with other carnauba based products.

So based on protection PoliSeal would be the better choice over AIO. I also find it less of a hassle to work with and I am finding, as have others, that it seems to clean up trim and such nicely. I don't notice any staining of trim....but this may change as I do more cars with it.

PoliSeal will also correct paint where the AIO is pretty weak, unless doing single stage oxidation removal. PoliSeal is NOT a pure polymer product but rather designed for the car enthusiast that may not have a polisher. What we found though through testing was that it makes on hell of a "one step" for both wholesale and retail detailers...both by hand and machine (rotary also).

If you want something more along the lines of a true polymer, with no carnuaba, then you may want to try my sealant. I will be getting some more beta samples by Friday of the New Year and hopefully the tweaks will fix the issues I was experiencing. If all goes well I'll need some beta testers.

I did not detail the engine as it's a mid engine car.....too much crap to go thru to get to the engine and it can't be seen if I did.

The new Cayman is pretty sweet also!

I have been using for several years now a steam vapor cleaner. It boils water and a pump forces out the steam to a variety of nozzles, some for carpets, floors, windows and a jet nozzle for high pressure cleaning.

My steamer has a high delivery rate of 65 psi and a nozzle temp of about 190 degrees. I use if for all things detail....from cleaning wheels and degreasing engines to emulsifying coffee and removing window tint.

How I did the carpets was to first vacuum, pre-treat the stains and then go over the areas with my steamer. After several passes I then extracted the carpets/mats with my extractor. Very effective tool but also very costly

I used a high speed rotary for the leveling steps and a Cyclo for the finishing step. While a PC and Cyclo are very nice they would not of been able to level the paint down nearly as quick or effective as a rotary.
