Good morning fellow AGers!

This Expedition belongs to my best friend's dad. For personal reasons, he hasn't been able to wash his car all year long. Since his son is getting married in a few weeks, I thought I'd drive over there on Saturday and spend a few hours detailing it! Hey, it would be my good deed of the day!

As you can see, the car wasn't black any longer. It was gray. There wasn't really any point in me washing the car because it didn't end up making a difference. I arrived at 5pm and gave myself until 8pm to do as much as I possibly could. My wife was sick at home and I wanted to be back home on time to make her dinner.

1) Foam with Megs Gold Class
2) Wash with CG Citrus Wash
3) Dry with Absorber
4) SSR2.5 on LC Orange Pad w/ PC on 6
5) SSR1 on LC White Pad w/ PC on 5 (ver few spots, didn't have time)
6) Waxed with P21S

On to the pics!

I really wanted to take more pictures because I was really pleased the way it turned out! The sun was going down and I only had an old Sony camera with me, so they didn't come out good whatsoever.

The best thing was that his parents were so very pleased and appreciative, it made it all very much worthwile. Definitely a "feel good" detail!

Looks great p1et ;) Nice of you to do a free detail! :D The 50/50 shots are crazy, that paint was baaaad! Nice turnaround :) Good work!

The 50/50 shot really show the difference. Great job on some paint that really needed some attention.

Dude now that's a detail, just look at the 50/50 pictures...wicked just wicked. Black is always fun to detail and it's very rewarding seeing the after pictures. So it must have been quite hot to be walking around with just shorts...man I miss hot weather...I shouldn't complain it's been quite nice here but not hot enough to walk around topless, oh well It's all good.

Nice job there, by the way hope your wife feels better and it's mighty nice of you to cook for her. Well done.

Thanks gentlemen! I really appreciate the kind words.

Was the paint perfect when I was done with it? Absolutely not. Was there a huge difference? You bet!

If I would have had the time, I would probably have done SSR3 on a yellow pad, then followed with SSR2.5 and then SSR1.

I only did one part of the rear end with SSR1 and it just looked stunning, but I was strapped for time. Perhaps next time!

And Nica, I'll tell my wife to feel better soon!!!

What a huge difference. It really showed on the 50/50 shot. That was fun to see. Thanks.

Hey piet! looks terrific! Love the 50/50 shots. Is that your Lowe's foam gun?

Thanks Lauren! I appreciate that! Yes, that's my cheapie Lowe's foam fun...

so, do you like it? i want to go get one.

It won't give you foam like the ones that Justin sells, but it's a great little toy for $9!

P1et that was an awesome job. And doing all that while working against the clock is really impressive. I always seem to stress a little when working against a time frame. Nice, Nice, Nice job man and you went home and cooked dinner ~ hope my wife never reads your review;) .

Thanks Wolf!

PS: nice Dodge Stealth by the way! There is a guy at work who has an immaculate twin turbo that he's having about $10K in work done to as we speak. Once it's done, it'll be in my hands for a full detail!

When you get to do that you HAVE to share pics. I would love to see it. You don't see too many Stealths around and I look forward to seeing what you do to it.:righton:

First of all, that was very sweet of you! :applause: Second looks like you had a few beers in that background to help you out there!

Wolf: you can bet that I'll be taking a lot of pictures! He is a member of the local Viper club, so hopefully the word will spread and I'll be able to do a few of those!

Meghan: I really appreciate that! And yes, a brisk Paulaner in the Texas sun always works REALLY well!!!

Very nice job..I don't think I could have done it in that time frame.

Grat job! That's an extreme makeover! Hopefully your friend's dad will now start washing it considering that you had to do such a makeover...;)

Man, that is great to help people out like that. I wish more people was like you. She really come out looking great. Love the 50/50 shot, it shows off your work. The only thing I see wrong is, you are not wearing Crocs. :D

The truck looks amazing for the timeframe you were working under. The 50/50's truly show a hugh difference in the paint. It was sweet of you to do this job and I spotted the beer right off too!!;)
