This 2001 Porsche Boxster was in some serious need of attention. The car was covered with heavy swirls and lots of scratches, really taking away from the cars appearance. It was treated to a multi-stage paint correction followed by the application of a Natty's Black Paste Wax by Poorboy's World that was being reviewed for it's release.

The car was quite dusty when I brought it home for the work from being in the garage most of the winter

The paint really did not look all that bad when it was in the shade or low light.

Some scuff marks on the driver side front corner of the bumper.

The plastics on the wiper cowl were very faded and looked more of a gray color then the black that it should be.

The convertible top was also quite dirty, and had a brownish tint to it.

In the sunlight you can just how dirty and dusty the car actually was.

Another bigger scuff/dent in the passenger side fender.

WASH PROCESS

The wheels were not too horrible, although they did have a good bit of brake dust on the inner barrels along with some quite greasy tire dressing.

This picture shows the Iron.X breaking down the brake dust on the surface of the wheels.

The exhaust had quite a bit of carbon built up on the tip due to lack of cleaning.

Iron.x was used for cleaning along with some steel wool to remove the carbon build up.

Once the wheels and exhaust were cleaned, we moved on to cleaning the top with 303.

After the top was cleaned we moved on a 2 bucket method wash which was followed up with another wash with a Nanoskin wash mitt.

The car was then dried, and you can now see the top is nice and looks like it should.

Black Porsche paint is pretty notorious for being soft. It was noticeable in the previous pictures that the paint appeared to be cloudy after compounding. This is car marring, which is caused during the compounding process and will be removed during the polishing process.

This picture shows how the paint is cleared up after the polishing process. The paint on the left has been polished while the paint on the right is how the finished looked after the compounding process.

TRIM RESTORATION

With the paint taken care, it was now time to turn my attention to the faded trim pieces.

cae0fc_f379dd6ccc55401e8ad0b413e7a46a18.jpg

The trim was thoroughly cleaned before applying a long term trim coating that restores the color to the trim while providing years worth of protection to keep it looking dark.

PROTECTION APPLICATION

A coat of Poorboy's World Blackhole Glaze was applied to the car prior the final layer of wax.

Once the glaze was removed Poorboy's World Natty Black was applied to the painted surfaces.

cae0fc_7ba3e3a4624544d98bef65cb9b9e4c41.jpg

After drying to haze the wax was removed leaving a deep glossy finish.

Unfortunately the weather did not cooperate and I was not able to get pictures in the sunlight. However the car looked a mile deep once finished.

The paint was now nice and clear with great reflective qualities.
