2003 Acura RSX

Top notch work as always, Nica.

Thanks for the thorough writeup and great pics as well.

mixxer - Glad you enjoyed the write up and the pictures, I seem to have a happy finger with it comes to taking pictures.

supercharged - Glad you like the engine bay, I was very pleased with the results my self. Boy that Optimum Protection Plus looks great in the engine bay, I'm pleased with it and glad I got a big jug of it :D. Thank you for the feed back.

Sevenrd - As always my friend always enjoy your feed back, thank you for the compliment and glad you enjoyed it.

Wicked detail and pics. You are becoming quite the master. I'm sure understated when you said the customer was happy. I'll bet times x10.

The car looks great. Thanks for taking all of the 50/50 pictures. :applause:

What products did you use on the clear bra? Did you have to remove any swirls/scratches on the clear bra?

Jimmie - Glad you enjoyed the pictures but me a master...mmmm...I still feel I have a long way to go yet but one vehicle at a time and hopefully one day I'll live up to the tittle, for now I'm still learning and trying a bunch of products out, but thank you for the cumpliment my friend means a lot to me. As for the customer, well she was very impressed. She looked inside the vehicle and said "wow" :D that made me happy.

SweetJazz - Glad you enjoyed the 50/50 pictures, I too am happy with how they turned out. As for the 3M on the vehicle, yes there were lots and I mean lots of swirls, sorry I didn't take a picture of that. So what products I used? Same as the rest of the vehicle, Menzerna 85RD3.02 and Meg's polishing pad with the Metabo running at about 1500rpm not 1800rpm. On this one I kept a nice and steady movement as I didn't want to much heat to build up. I managed to remove majority of the swirls, exept for those really deep cuts/rock chips through the 3M. If you have more questions feel free to ask I'll try to answer them as best I can.

LOVING IT! Great job!

IF they had the type R here in the US, I would have one in my garage.

Are the type Rs available in Canada?

Nice! Black is a nice colour for this car... I will be posting my 2006 Blue RSX soon....

Outstanding work on every section of the car. I remember a while ago you said you wanted to concentrate more on the interior details; goal accomplished. Every aspect looks awesome.

Oigame, Compadre! Tremendo trabajo que hiciste ahi! Hiciste que el color negro leuciera mejor que nunca en el auto! Excelente como siempre!

Translation? Look it up!:p

FMINUS - Thank you buddy, glad you enjoyed the write up. Now I agree with you about the Type R, we did have some Type R Acura Integras but I haven't seen a Type R for the RSX. The one I owned was a Type S and I had the engine modified a bit, not much but just a bit...enough to get some nice horse power. It was sad to let it go but just ran out of room in the garage and the wife wouldn't let me park the Volvo outside. Oh well, next sport vehicle will be much, much better the the RSX ;).

klumzypinoy - hahahahaha...funny but true ;) hhahahaha

hondajake - Oh I agree blue and black, to me where the best colours for this vehicle. It really compliments the curves and turns the vehicle has. I'm looking forward on seeing that nice and sexy blue RSX buddy :awesome:

AL417 - Thank you and yes I've been paying so much attention on the interior that interior and exterior are about equal in the amount of time I spend detailing. Well worth it though as I've blown the customers away with the restults. Like anything the more I do the better results I achive. Glad you enjoyed it and thank you for the kind words.

Bigfoot - Compadre, muchisimas gracias :grouphug:. Glad you enjoyed it my friend and always enjoy your feed back. Thank you for the compliments bro.

Carlos..I wanted to throw in my $.02 as well...I love how the paint came out. When I saw the imperfections and had read about using the rd menz..i was surprised at how well it did..I thought it was more of a finishing polish like the 106. I will be posting my pics later this a.m..it was a challenge for me, this one. again..congrats, buddy!

Nice work my friend.. very nice work..

I must clean the drool from my chin now!!!

Question: Do you offer a quick touch up when customers spend more the "XX" amount of money and the car is picked up when raining?

I just started this and it has worked out very well for me

My god, great work Carlos. Are you a detailer or a magician? :p
Thanks for sharing !!

richy - Thank you for the feed back richy, always enjoy feed back my friend. As for the Menzerna 3.02 it's basically the Menzerna Intensive Polish but the new formula. The old formula is 3.01 and the 3.02 is the new formula. It's not quite the same as 106FF or 106FA, it has more bit but finishes down very nice. The nice thing about it is that it's pad dependent and if you get the right pad combo you can get it to finish down just right. Now what helped on this vehicle is that the clear coat wasn’t that hard, I'd say medium. On harder clear coats 3.02 may not work properly maybe with the Meg's cutting pad though. Well this combo worked out great on this vehicle, but remember the 3.02 is my own personal stash that I will only use on my vehicles...mmm...with the exception of vehicles I deem special ;).

MotorCity Honda - Thank you for the compliment, and glad you enjoyed it. As for the touch up paint, I just tell the customers that if they give me the paint code from there vehicle I can get touch up paint for them. If they give it to me on time I have a friend of mine that owns his own paint shop and he gets me just about anything I need...well paint wise. The reason I even do the touch up paint is just to provide that little extra that's all. Besides I treat the customer’s vehicles as though they are my own.

maesal - Hey it's my Brazilian buddy, how you maesal? Glad to see you around here and thank you for the compliment my friend. Glad you enjoyed it, you complimenting me means a lot to me. I've seen your work/videos and man you got some skills...as for me a magician..well kinda...the Metabo is my magic won hahahahaha and my potions are called Menzerna hahahahahaha. Good to see you my friend.

I'm thinking of trying it myself, next time I detail an engine.

Hey Nica.. I guess I didn't ask my question correctly.

Let me try again.

If my customers get any service over $100 and it is raining when they take delivery of thier vehicle I will schedule a "quick wash" withing the next 7 days (obviously when it's sunny).

I did this for a customer a couple weeks ago.. he was very appreciative. Even though the "quick wash" was a "freebie" he still tipped AGAIN!!!

supercharged - you won't be disappointed my friend, to be honest this engine bay looks much better then the other product's I've used. On top of that it's the safest way to dress an engine bay too as it's water based product. Not that there is anything wrong with using aerosol products on the engine bay, I've used a few of them my self but I prefer the Optimum Protection Plus over the aerosol, again that’s just me.

oh hahahaha sorry I seem to have a wire crossed lately as I'm miss interpreting things I read :(

As for the wash, yes I offer it too because I feel bad for the vehicle getting all dirty again, not only that but from a customer perspective they just paid to have the vehicle detailed and to get it back and get it home all dirty I wouldn’t like it my self. The nice thing is that majority of the vehicles I've done are co-workers so I just tell them to give me there keys at lunch time and tell them I'm going to wash there vehicle...I haven't had a complaint just yet hahahahaha. Yes, customer truly appreciate that little extra.

Thank you for clearing that up for me and sorry for miss interpreting your question :(my bad.

Well done! :applause::applause:
:) We will have to get together when I get back to Calgary! I will bring along the secret tool as well as some new polishes. :) I think I am going to put in a big AG order to my Hotel once I book it.
