2003 Chrysler Sebring Convertible

My son was in an accident last week and they totaled his car a 2002 Taurus. He was not injured nor at fault. He was hit by a UPS truck. I will be picking up a 2003 Chrysler Sebring black two door convertible. The car has 48,000 miles on it. Good looking car but paint has some light scratches and swirls. I plan on Saturday to to do the following once I pick the car up on Friday night.

Wash 2 bucket method with PB wash and suds
Clay bar with PB Poly Elastic clay using a spray bottle with wash soap above prior to washing.
Re-wash car and dry.
PB ProPolish with a white pad
PB ProPolish 2 with a black pad
PB Black hole (ordered tonight) red pad
PB EX with blue pad 2 coats
PB Natty's Blue paste wax with a blue pad most likely done on Sunday 24 hours later.

Interior is real clean but will use

PB APC various dilutions to clean
Leather seats need to really wait on this
Mats APC with power washer, steamer, and shop vac
Carpets will mainly be done with extractor (Bissell) and Folex

I just have a few more questions on a few processes.

After final polishing I would like to use PP2 to do some jeweling. Do I apply Black hole after, before or is the jeweling step not needed?

My understanding of Black Hole is to be applied left to haze prior to buffing. I will be using a flex and a red pad. Am I assuming right?

My next question is on how to clean the convertible top. What should be used and does anyone have a process.

Tires will be cleaned and PB bold and bright gel applied.

Interior also will get PB Natural Look (ordered tonight).

I will post pictures when I get the vehicle on Friday and as I go on Saturday and Sunday.

Please post suggestions

I envy you if you can do all of this in one day.

Ppst spme b4 and after pics. I rented one of those cars in FL. Newer model. Pretty sweet for a rental.

Black hole after jeweling. But, if jeweling, why use black hole?

If the defects come out with your stated steps, and then jewel, is black hole needed?

Will post pictures. Working with my son should make it go easier. Since this is not a big car I should be done by Sunday afternoon. I usually will start at 6:00 am on Saturday with the washing, claying and 2nd wash and then set up a tent to work under. This is the quiet part of the day. Once that is done I will tape off the vehicle to avoid the stains on the plastics.

Those are notorious for leaking. Be cautious about spraying where the ragtop meets the top of the windows, they generally don't align/seal very well, if at all.
Been there done that with several, made a mess of the interiors (I'm slow) and cost me a lot more time than I planned on.
 
That's a lot of Poor Boy's! And yes, those cars do have deal problems. I just had one come to the car wash I work at and the window didn't even line up under the roof.

This top is in great shape. no frays or tears. looks like it is a replacement. Everything lines up and is tight.

I like PoorBoys products. Good products that ae not exspensive and are easy to work with. A big plus they are a short ride to their location.

Works quite well for a home detailer. I don't do a lot of cars werea bigger commercial unit is needed.

People come on here claiming they professionally want to be a detailer.

Wow my wife had just gotten a brand new 91 LeBaron convert able around the time I met her,a looooong time we been together,that had the same problem.I use to put the foam from a window AC unit to make a tight seal. I guess they never fixed the problem! I always hated that car! When we were married a few years later she hijacked my Explorer and I got stuck with that ragtop , ugh ! By that brings back some good memories u triggered,that car is long gone,but she is still by my side:dblthumb2::dblthumb2:
