This is my brothers car. I've been meaning to detail it for some time now, but it's daily driven and I haven't had a chance to spend a lot of time with it.
He went out of town so I decided I am going to surprise him when he gets home tomorrow.
This car doesn't get too much attention as far as washing goes. Usually goes through automatics every once in a while and hasn't had a proper detail ever.
It was in pretty bad shape when I started it and I am very surprised at how well it turned out.

Started off washing it with Dawn
Wheels, tires and wells with Brown Royal
Clayed with Pinnacle ultra-poly and ONR clay lube.

I did a 1 step with a lake country Orange pad and menzerna power finish. There were still some RIDS but I got the majority of the swirls out.
Sealed with Power lock
Waxed with Collinite 845
All trim and plastic UTTG
wheels and wells dressed with Surf city garage tire dressing

I tried just about everything and this wouldn't come out until i buffed it.

It was starting to get dark and I just finished the power lock so I had to take pics

So this morning I finished it up. Applying the Collinite 845, dressing the trim and applying UTTG
Very Faded

Great job. The car is looking good. Your brother is going to be really surprised. Could see your reflection taking that picture, in the shot with just the Menz Powerlock. Nice combo with Collinite 845. That car will be protected for quite a while.

Cool! I just did a black Mazda6 like a month ago, fairly easy to correct.
Good Job!

Nice job, my dad has the exact same car and color and year, I always like how it looks after a good cleaning.

Nice job. I like the dark greys because they can be cleaned up very nicely, they look awesome with a coat of wax in a sunset, and yet they still hide some imperfections. A perfect for for a DD vehicle IMO.

Thanks guys! Showed it to him yesterday and he was very happy :)

how you applied the Collinite 845 wax? wipe on / wipe off?

Sorry to rehash an old thread but I have an 08 mazda 6 with comparable swirls. Looks like Power Finish was enough to knock this out?

Anyone have opinions how power finish and Meg Ult Compound compare?

Yup, power finish on a LC orange took care of just about all the swirls.

I haven't tried megs ultimate compound yet so we'll have to wait and see if someone else can chime in.
