So I decided that I was going to give the PC a try on my own vehicle.

1) Washed with Megs Gold Class
2) Clayed with Zaino Z-18
3) Poorboys SSR2.5 w/ PC on 5-6
4) Poorboys SSR2.5 w/ PC on 5-6
5) Poorboys SSR1 w/ PC on 5
6) Poorboys EX-P w/ PC on 3

All in all, I'm quite pleased. The truck had quite a few swirls and marks from claying incorrectly. I pretty much got them all out, which was frankly the main point in me getting a PC in the first place.

Here's a comment...holy mother of reflections Batman!!!

That reflection shot could easily be someone taking a picture of you. That is awesome. How did you like the EX-P from an application viewpoint? I have a bottle but haven't had a chance to try it out yet due to rain.

Great work man.... I like EX-P as well..... Although the new DP Sealant gives it a good run....
Topping it will make it look awesome Im sure.....
If you intend to keep this combo on for fall/winter, you might want to go another layer of EX-P... THEN top it....

I really enjoy using EX-P. On the gray pad on 3, it goes on very smoothly. I left it on for about 45 minutes before removing and it left the surface extremely smooth with a great reflection. Actually, I think I enjoy it more than Z2 Pro as it's a lot easier to remove. I could apply that stuff all day long!

And yes, I will put another layer of it before putting on Natty's Blue to ensure even coverage...

You'll love Nattys Blue topping EX-P. The SSR line does have some fillers so if you want next time, do an Iso Alcohol wipedown or AIO and it will remove any fillings showing what real work was done. But actually the fillers might be better on a truck like that b/c I know with my buddies quad cab Cummins Ram, with long bed, is a beotch to even wash lol.

Glad that baby's a Cummins:awesome:, manual or auto? Any work done? Buddies getting the new GMC with the new Duramax, not sure what he's going to do with the Ram which has some nice mods.

Thanks everyone!

The truck has a 48RE, or the auto tranny. I was trying to find a 6-speed but I was offered such a good deal on this one that I couldn't turn it down. Haven't done anything to it apart from straight-piping it and putting in a high-flow air filter.

Hopefully I'll be putting on a layer for Natty's Blue next weekend! More pics then...
 
Great Looking Truck a job well done on the swirl removal.. Like someone stated though I would do a wipedown of 50/50 Iso Alcohol/Water I find that the SSR 2.5 specifically can hide defects VERY well, Those Ram's are One of my favorites of all time.... Don't know if you know of him but my boss is Ted Jannetty of Jannetty Racing one of the innovators in diesel performance specifically the Cummins Ram :cheers: , I walk by built 48RE's everyday :righton:

How long did it take you to do the truck, including both steps? My bro has a Dodge quad cab 1500 and that is one big mutha!!! I went over his once and was pooped!!!
 
Bluzman, that took me a while! Claying always takes the longest as it always seems to do more bad than good, so I take it real easy. The hood and front fenders alone already took me north of 2.5 hours.

Keep in mind that I'm pretty new to all this and "funny angles" still takes getting used to.

you've inspired me to take my detailing to the next level ! instead of calling it good with a wash,clay and meguiars 3 step ill be investing in some poorboys !
 
White95, fantastic seeing you here! I'm telling you, this forum made me step up my detailing as well! I thought that just washing it and putting on a layer of Zaino Z2 was good... until I starting reading all the threads here.

Post a little introduction about yourself in the new members section and let everyone know who you are and where you can from! Gotta love referrals!

Also, when you start working on your truck, post some good before and afters...

That's what I love about AG's forums. It really is like a family. Everybody offers such great advice and we all get to learn from one another how to get the ultimate paint finish. :) Welcome to AG White95. We're so glad you decided to pop in. I hope you'll stick around. :)
 
oh ill definantly stick around, but my paint on my truck is in too bad of condition right now to really undergo what i want to do.......i have pics of the flaking of my hood....and the bed has some pretty bad body damage that i need to adress....after all is said and done i might invest in a new black paint job :)
