This is my fathers car, it's a nice car but it hasn't been washed in a month. The paint is actually in a bad state, we got chips, scratches and swirls galore, the color is beautiful though - I don't remember the name but it is a black pearl effect of some sort. So it is really in need of claying and polishing but this post goes to show that a wash and spray wax can do quite a lot for a car!
BTW: Process is described as we go along with the pictures
For starters, befores:
Wheels sprayed with Würth wheel cleaner, really one of the best products ever:
Würth wheel cleaner slightly agitated...
...then rinsed:
Washing:
I spent the very last of my favorite soap on saturday so all I was left with on sunday was a bottle of AutoGlym Bodywork Shampoo and Conditioner. Yes it does clean quite well and yes it leaves a good shine but I really dislike it. It has got no suds and no lubricity.
Filling up the soap-container in the pressure washer to do some pre-cleaning:
Did anybody say foam? errr... no:
2 buckets and a new batch of the bad soap and it is time for my go to washing tool - the LC Ulti-mit. What can I say, I'm in love:
Time for som rinsin'! You can see that I'm getting somewhere too
Not even dried and I'm starting to get some nice reflections (oh yeah, and don't mind the swirls
):
Time to hit the Guzzler! Man, this thing rocks too! BTW, sorry for the weird lighting in a couple of the following shots. I must have switched on a setting of some sort.
All Guzzler'd
Time to hit the windows. Actually I am a fan of the Sonax line of products. They are IMO some of the best OTC products here in Norway. And their spray-nozzle is one of the best I have come a cross.
Clean windows:
And to make it all shine I used the Sonax quickwax (sort of Aquawaxy) and buffed with a Cobra Super-Plush Deluxe:
Afters in the next post....
