2004 Chevy SSR-1 Step Paint Correction (Rat Infested)

Great work Chris! :dblthumb2:
Thanks Nick

I did one of these a long while ago in black where the dealer did a nice job of swirling the paint. The owner had this huge garage at his business and one rainy day, I spent some time polishing it out. It was not in near the bad shape this one was. Great work! I always like to see these big time turn arounds.
HUMP

Thanks

Fantastic work! It's amazing how much damage mice and rats can do to a vehicle.

I always liked those trucks until I sat in one at a Mecum auction last year. I couldn't believe how cheap the interior was.
Thanks for the comments and I agree with interior minus the painted pieces on the inside.

Excellent work Chris!

I love Chevy SSRs being a former owner of the first SSRs the 1969 to 1975 Chevy Blazers and the color is spot on for this truck and the "Cool Factor".

Thanks Mike and thank you for sitting down with me on Thursday for a good amount of time and showing me the way you upload pictures.

Nice work Chris! :dblthumb2:

I have been hesitant about using CG Citrus W&G with my foam cannon since I thought it may clog the filter. Have you been using it for a while with your cannon?

That thing came out great, kinda surprised a car like that got the green light from GM, too bad they never made the panel truck version, those look sooooo much better IMO! One cool thing about those is the fact that the later versions were available with 6 speeds, imagine that!

Wow great work. Can't believe someone would buy that kind of vehicle (purple SSR means a certain kind of buyer, in my opinion), and then let it sit (rot) in a barn for 8 years after driving only 4600 miles! :dunno:

No matter what though, great job on bringing it back to life. I'm sure the pictures don't do justice to the original condition (including odor!). :dblthumb2:

Awesome job, and you're a brave man.

It was good to see that you were wearing a respirator, can't emphasize that enough when dealing with rodent excrement and mold...that's nasty stuff that can have long lasting negative health risks.

Nice work Chris! :dblthumb2:

Thanks Frank. I only really use it to strip wash a vehicle along with some APC mixed in with it. As far as clogging I run clean water through it when I am done still having it hooked up to pressure washer if that makes sense.

Very nice work!
Thank you

Thanks and some people I guess don't care, but with a rare make and GM only making them for a couple years I guess it would be a collector item.

Good job I notice the grill is kind of like a older Chevy!
Slash modern/Slash old school. Thanks for your comments.

Thank you. It was nasty and the smell was horrible. Wearing face protection and respirator was the only way to go. In the end it turned out great. Still working on good picture taking.

That makes sense, thanks.

Stunning work. I have always enjoy the SSR and that color is popping! Again nicely done!!

Thank you and it was different than the normal everyday ones I work with. Even though it was nasty inside it was still fun to do as a whole project.

One thing I forgot to add was the total time invested was 3 long days even for such a small car/truck. Thanks
