I was contacted by M3forum.net forum member migstwo (Harold) and he was wanting to get his M3 polished. He told me that she was in need of some love so we set up a date and today was the day. After I washed the car we looked over it in full sun and it was obvious that some inexperienced hack ran his rotary over it. We pulled it in the garage and after I clayed I began to try out different pads and products. After trying a few different combinations I was getting the best results from Menzerna IP and and Orange pad. I went over the whole car twice with Menzerna IP and orange pad and then finished her off with Menzerna 106FF and green pad. Although I did not get the cars paint 100% (it could take another 10 hours of polishing) I believe that I made great improvement and that it is 95% swirl free. I used Ultima PGP for the LSP. Unfortunately after I finished the sun was down behind the house so I could not capture the final look very good. I also want to say THANK YOU to Harold and his wife for great hospitality and letting me spend all day on there car! Enjoy the pics...

Thats exactly what happened with my buddy's M3 when he picked it up... Whats up with M3's getting demolished by inexperienced detailers!? lol

GREAT JOB on the M!

tripperfx3: most dealers (at least around here) use either contract labor from another company or hire unskilled labor at minimum wage and don't put much effort in teaching proper detailing process. I don't think they realize the damage they do not only to the car but also to customer relations. I've talked to 2 dealers here about what I do (and charge) and the time I spend on vehicles. They looked at me like I was from another planet~!

Awesome job, that thing was swirl city, not any more.....

Nice work, how long did it take you?

Start-To-Finish: 7 hours

1 hour: initial wash + dress plastic with Auto Magic
3 hours: paint polishing and waxing
2 hours: interior clean
1 hour: final wash and quick detailer buff

Toto I really think some car saleman are just salesman at heart, today it's cars yesterday it might have been washer/dryers and tomorrow it may be shoes. I do believe there are pros out there, but a lot of the highway dealers go through so many sales people with little to no auto experience just for volume sales. These hacks spoil the reps for the knowledgeable dealers in some cases. When I find good dealer I stick with him and inform my friends and family of them. The cream always rises to the top.

Thanks, that means alot coming from the master of black Bmw's.

I believe you are right about the dealers, the detailer they hired for this one just caked on fillers so the car looked good when the customer saw it.
