Greetings...about 5 years ago I got the paint on my 2004 Mach 1 about perfect with using XMT products and finished with P21S wax for a few months, tried Zaino Z-2 for a few months, and most recently have been using Wolfgang 3.0 sealant on it. I have been happy with Wolfgang but wondering if there is something better for it. There are some minor clear scratches from cleaning, covering, etc. and I plan on correcting them with Menzerna SIP which I have been impressed with. I am really looking for ultimate finishing sealant or carnuba and looking for ultimate final look. What finishing product seems to work the best on Ford's paint and really brings out the shine? Car is garage queen and doesn't see rain so weather resistance isn't a big deal for me. Thanks in advance.

To me ultimate sealants and ultimate looking carnubas are totally seperate sealants opticoat 2.0 carnubas... Fuzion.. I don't think I would top opticoat with anything more expensive than a signature series 2 just because its not going to last...

Will SS2 work well on top of the Wolfgang 3.0 sealant if have?

I just completed my daily driver (2012 Chevy Impala, Black Granit Metallic) with a quick polish using Meg Ultimate Polish then seal it with WG sealant 3.0 followed by 3 coats of GG Best of Show wax. (Full correction was done in July and well maintained) I had to use the GG spray wax to reactivate the wax in order to remove it but what a shine. If you follow the GG instruction video you can’t go wrong.

I'd definitely give dodo juice banana armour a shot, pickup a panel pot if you're skeptical
welcome brother :D

Menzerna SIP now call SI 1500 is a very good Medium Cut Polish. It finishes down nice enough for most people to go straight to wax. Some like to finish down a little more using either the SF 4000 or SF 4500

Gloss starts first with a smooth surface...

This is the definition of a high gloss finish!

I think the issue is the fact I haven't been finishing with a wax...just been using Wolfgang 3.0 and that is it. I have about half a jar of P21s remaining...should I try that first or is something like Dodo Juice or Signature Series 2 going to provide a better finish? Thanks for the helping a noob out.

I recently picked up ss II and ill be breaking it in, in a day or two if you can wait :D

Let me know what you think.

attached is a picture of my 73 year old Dad's 11 GT500 and my Mach. His car has 5,000 miles and I have 13,500 on mine.

I thought I had a low mile Mach 1at 22k. Good looking cars

Thanks...the low miles are the result of a six day a week job(doesn't get driven to work) in the summer and three and seven year old girls that demand quite a bit of Daddy time. Don't even think I put 1,000 miles on it this year. No harm...probably not depreciating much anymore.

Great looking cars. I think at this point your choice of LSP to bring out your paints maximum potential would be up to you. Both Dodo & Pinnacle make some great LSP's. With that being said, Signature series would be a great start IMO. If your going the Dodo route, pick a series that best caters to red color paints.

Think what Mike might have been suggesting is that the polish/PSP prep makes the true difference. The smoother the paint the more gloss and depth it with have regardless of the lsp you choose. I have polished quite a few Mustangs with SIP(SI1500) and finish polished with Menz SF4000(super finish 106) and every customer didn't nobthat it wasn't waxed or sealed. That said, WG Fuzion has been my go to on Mustang paint, minus one that was Opti-Coated and one white GT500 had some 845 and Fuzion. So I would say any wax comparable to Fuzion, or try out any of Collinite's waxes, 845 particularly.

If I go with Collinite's 845, are there any detail mists that can be used in conjunction with it? The car isn't driven in the rain so my bug removal and light dust touch up has generally been done with Meguires Ultimate Quick Detailer. Just want to make sure they will work together or is there another detail mist that would be better?

Wolfgang Deep Gloss Paint Sealant 3.0 is a "Finishing Sealant". You can get great results from either a finishing sealant or a finishing wax. What you don't normally do us work backwards but using a "cleaner/wax" or "cleaner/sealant".

Read through this article, I go into depth on the differences between "types" of LSP's.

Exactly.

The smoother the paint the more gloss and depth it with have regardless of the lsp you choose.

Just to add...

The smoother and more defect-free the paint the more gloss, depth, clarity, etc.

Defect-free means removing as many below surface defects as safely as possible, things like swirls and scratches.

Fuzion is my go to on my paint :D
I love it

Good read Mike...I guess what has confused me is I have read many of the product reviews on autogeek about various sealants and have noticed several people talk about applying a final wax application on top of what should be a last step sealant.

Not that I am not happy with Wolfgang 3.0 from pictures I have taken in the past when I had P21S on it the paint appeared to be wetter and in my opinion looked better. I guess I prefer the look of a good wax as opposed to the sealant look.
