This is my 2004 Grand Prix Supercharged that I purchased back in March 2012. I really enjoy getting in it every day. Plus it looks amazing once detailed.

I have recently cleaned the car up a bit

-Maguires Clay Bay Kit
-Maguires Ultimate Compound (By Hand)
-Maguires Ultimate Polish (By Hand)
-Waxed with Mothers Gold Class (By Hand)
-Polished Rims
-Tires Shined with Mothers Back To Black Tire Shine
-Interior Cleaned and Conditioned With Maguires

Here are the pictures-

I also recently put in a Pioneer Touch Screen and a K and N CAI

I should also have LED tails installed soon.

I am a beginner detailer and avid car enthusiast. I plan on eventually getting a Griots Garage V3 Duel Action polisher in the warmer months and remove the imperfections I do have.

Also, I recently purchased a lug nut brush and a EZ Detail Brush to make the wheels even cleaner.

I look forward to learn about new products and techniques from the awesome members of this forum.

Nice lil charger unit on those engines.

Good job keeping it clean too, congrats and welcome.

Nice! Clean car. I drove one of those years ago, fast SOB that car is!

:welcome: looks like your off to a good start!

Man, I miss the Pontiac nameplate. Nice car.

Me an you both, buddy.. Along with a few million of the most loyal GM owners out there. Alas. :(

The supercharged 3800 spoiled me, frankly. My first one was a 1997 model and I've never seen the "no replacement for displacement" discussion the same!! lol

Had that same year Grand Prix (non supercharged). I really liked that car. But what I didn't like was that 3800 engine. I was unfortunate enough to have the infamous coolant leak into the intake.

Yeah, I've had several 3800 engines, some that have lasted over a quarter million miles, and each one of them has needed intake gasket replacements.. They have a redesign that has seemed to work, but I still say that if you can drive a car 250k miles and the worst problem you have is a $400-$800 fix then you did pretty good.

Agreed.

I had the same problem. Luckily all the leak issues came around while I was still under warranty.

What tends to go on these engines are the LIM and Valve cover gaskets around the 60-100k mile mark. But once that is resolves the overall engine reliability is great and with the supercharged models being moddable.

I plan on keeping my car relatively stock to avoid any major issues that may come with modding. The only thing I have done to it engine wise is a K/N Intake.

I enjoy the car as it is plus being on a college budget and the warranty being expired, I don't need any major problems in the near future lol.

I managed a Pontiac-GMC dealer until 2009, when GM decided we no longer needed to be in business. The '04 and later GP's were my favorite choice in company cars. I had some V8 GXP's and they were truly awesome runners, but the supercharged 3800's were my favorite daily drivers. Get that ugly (IMO) plastic cover off the engine! Covers may be in style today, but I'd rather have that blower in plain view when I open the hood!

That is a clean GP right there and I see you've gotta an intake, any plans for a smaller pulley?

Your car looks very well cared for. Very clean! Nice job!

Since its getting nicer out, I can finally been able to wash it by hand. I hated taking the car to the car wash but in the winter, its to cold to hand wash it and the salt from the road could have done damage if I did not take it there lol.

Nice Ride! Mines an '05 GTP. 86K I'll eventually garage and put a body kit on it. And new rims. Love this car. I've never had a bad 3800 and have had 6 of them.
