So, I recently (partially) lost my mind and threw nearly $200 at Autogeek purchases. Do I regret this, no, because I got so many marvelous things!

One of the awesome things I purchased was the McKee's 37 Hydro Blue Wash Kit

I had done an iron decontamination, Klasse AIO and Collinite 845, 24 days ago but Pearl was in need of a bath. (Bugs, rain and dusty roads..)

Klasse AIO paired with fine grade steel wool used to get these results :)

So, removed bugs from front end with Omni Brite (a Car Brite product I get from work, diluted 10:1).

Washed with McKee's 37 Xtreme Foam Formula Auto Shampoo. Now, I know that it's for a foam cannon, but since I haven't gotten my paws on one of those yet, I settled for the directions for a hand wash. The stuff foams nicely in the bucket, but very few suds transfer from the bucket to the paint. It cleaned pretty well, though I did find myself going over a few panels again. Rinsing it off, however, that was a breeze. The scent was nice as well.

Overall, acceptable product results, but I won't buy again unless I've got a foam cannon to use it with! (soon...) but as a hand wash, I'd give it about 7.5 out of 10 stars.

Then came the fun part. Spraying the McKee's 37 Hydro Blue Sio 2 Coating onto the still wet paint. I was sooooo excited. I still had some beading going on, but in the past month the wax had gotten pretty beat up without much care as I'd been busy.

Rinsing this stuff off, I felt like a kid at a candy shop. I can easily say I've not really ever gotten this much beading/sheeting (depending on how the water lands) without some super hard work. Just spraying this stuff on made me super happy with the beading.

Next came drying. There wasn't too much water cling, but there was some.

Using the freshly washed Cobra Supreme Guzzler Waffle Weave Microfiber was a dream. Until pretty recently I'd always sworn by a good Chamois, made easier with a Chamois wringer at work. I'm a believer in this towel, and would like to add another to my arsenal.

The finished result:

So, the application of the spray-on coating was June 9th. Wednesday, June 14th, we had what could be considered torrential downpours. I had pulled into the driveway in my truck and was contemplating my watery doom when my car caught my eye. The water was sliding off the paint just as quickly as it was falling (which is really quite a feat in the conditions it had to deal with!

So, I'm impressed with this stuff. I'd very much like to see where it will go in the future, but I like it so far!

Happy detailing :D

Looks great! I too had fun using Hydro Blue for the first time a month or so ago.

I feel the same as the OP. Spent quite a bit on Autogeek this weekend but can't wait to use the stuff. I love this place!

Shhhhhhh

Don't tell people how easy it is.

You slaved for days!

I just finished my 4th gallon of Hydro Blue. Love it. Nice ride, looks great :)

I just used this stuff on my truck wheels and I was really impressed.

I just want to know if I can use it on a freshly waxes car or does it not make sense? Also can you use it on tonneau covers?

Sorry to jump in with these questions but I was really impressed with what it did with my wheels

Nice turn around! Car looks great. Great choice of product you used as well!

I've read that you can 100% use the HydroBlue on fresh wax, but it doesn't bond as well so it doesn't last as long. This, in my opinion, means that it doesn't make sense to use it on freshly waxed vehicles. As for tonneau covers... I'm not sure. I mean i got some on my plastic and rubber seals, etc, with no issue but I can't say one way or the other on a vinyl tonneau cover. I feel like it would be one of the "oops, I got some on my cover" and not purposely putting it on the cover, but you might want to ask one of the McKee's guys that, I know they're around here somewhere!

TL;DR: I wouldn't use it on FRESH wax, and I don't think I would purposely spray a vinyl tonneau with it.

I'm always confused as to what a tonneau cover even is... But this stuff would be really cool if it lent its benefits if applied to a fabric top.

If it could keep it cleaner longer and maybe even give it some added sheen + water beading it would be a grandslam. I don't know if I'm willing to let my car be a guineua pig though...

@NickMckee's. Could HydroBlue be safely used on a fabric top? This idea has me really intrigued.
