This is a detail of a 2007 Aston Martin Vantage that I did today. The only thing that I can say about this car is that it is pure "Sex" on wheels. The interior has the most leather I think I have ever seen on a car. You simply melt into it and the body lines and contours are incredible.
It has a 4.3 liter V8 that puts out 403 hp. What more could you ask for in a vehicle. Looks and great power.
I was given the opportunity to try out some of the new Ultima product line and a new PC that will be released by David B at Autopia. First a small review of the products that IMO are sheer winners.
I used the new Ultima Shampoo today via a Gilmour Foam Gun and this soap was super slick and produced awesome suds. These suds lasted throughout the entire wash. All I can say about this soap is that a little goes a long way.
I also used the new Ultima Leather Sealant. This is a great product. I applied it with a foam applicator and let it try for about 15 mins and then wiped with a MF towel. It seems to melt into the leather and left the interior smelling awesome.
The new PC that will be released is an incredible improvement over the standard 7224 or 7336. It is identical in looks to the standard Porter Cable 7224 or 7336 but has noticable improvements. Here are some of the new things I loved about it.
1) It has about 20% more power than a regular PC
2) The dial selector was more accurate
3) Zero vibrations at speed 6 (You could crack this thing all day long and not have your teeth fall out)
4) Rock solid and heavier. The machine just felt perfect when applying pressure and moving it around the car.
5) More stable power cord as compared to a regular PC (where it meets the machine)
I used two (2) machines on this detail. A standard 7224 with a 4 inch pad and the new PC with 6.5 inch pads. The difference was definitely noticeable when switching back and forth between machines. The new PC machine great machine and I can't wait to see it released.
Here was the process for today on the Aston Martin.
Wash with Gilmour Foam Gun and Ultima Wash Soap
Wash with Sheepskin Mitt and rinse bucket
Clay with Megs white clay and Megs QD as lube
Polish with Optimum Poli-Seal via new PC and Sonus Green pad at 5
Wax with Megs #21 via PC with LC black pad at 3
Wheels cleaned with Sonus Rim Bright
Tires Dressed with Megs Endurance
Interior cleaned with Megs ID
Leather dressed with Ultima Leather Sealant
Glass cleaned with Megs Glass Cleaner
I apologize for the quality of the pics. The driveway was very cramped and I was trying to get the best angle but the sun was not cooperating. I have a tripod on order and can't wait to try and work on my photography skills.
Before
After: ( I love the one reflection pic. Thats my F150. Looks like a POS compared to the Vangtage)
