Stupid question time....what is 'SF" that you used on the trim?
Turned out great! Question for you, that little rust chip on the truck, how did you go about sanding that little section out? I have a spot like that on my hood that I would like to take care of but not sure how to handle it.
Also for touch up paint would it be fine to use either the autoparts store touch up or dealership?
Thanks for taking the time to comment Ron!Somehow missed this thread..great recovery.
Let me know how it works for you. Just wait 4 hours minimum prior to coating after the SF. Thoroughly, and I mean thoroughly, wipe it down prior to coating too to remove any oils on the surface.
Buddy, between the 2 products, the rust was removed. I don't recall how much compounding I had to do, but I don't think I spent more than 2 or 3 minutes working that small area by hand. I used M100 on that spot.Did the iron x paste and compound take away that rust really good? If so I'll have to get this iron x stuff and what compound did you use? I was afraid of sanding it in such a small area!
Per usual...TOP NOTCH work, Sir!
It's very nice to know that SF has quality customer support.
When you state to wipe it down prior to Dlux, did you use an IPA or just damp or dry MF towels?
SF+DLUX seems like a geat combo if one takes the steps you mention. I LOVE DLUX.
How much SF did you use on the truck?
