I did one awhile back that had several burns in the floor board carpet just below the center console. It turned out great and the owner was amazed. He had quite smoking a couple years before, and said that the burns in the carpet had really bothered him. He gave me a respectable sized tip...

For burn holes I do something similar. generally I will cut a tiny piece of carpet from up at top under the dash or a small piece from under rear seats if they fold forward and use hot glue to patch the hole and a brush to blend the fibers, I like your method as well and both will get the job done. :xyxthumbs:

Thank you trerc! Glad you enjoyed the hot water/clay tip, it does work very well. I have a buddy (Richy) who puts his in the microwave for a few seconds to make it more pliable as well. I've never tried his method, but I'm sure it works well too.
