Some of you might recognize this car from a previous post, its my sisters boyfriends car, and probably my favorite car to detail and its the car that changed my mind about owning a black car. I really like the curves this car has and its real easy to polish, plus the black is so deep when its finished. I actually left a pretty good party last night just to come home to clean this car, yes I'm a detailing geek. Anyway, I didn't get to take any before pics, cause it was about 10:00 last night when I started, but the car was still swirl free from the last time I did it, but hadn't been washed in about three weeks and had been covered in love bugs at times. It had a lot of dried up bug splatter, road grime, and a lot of large water marks. So I got to work last night and finished this morning. Check it.

Procedure:
  1. 2 bucket wash with DG #901 and Purple Power APC, Schmitt, Cobra MF Scrub Pad, dried with Guzzler and Megs. FI. No foam Gun, read below.
  2. Clayed just the front cap with DP CLay and DP Clay Lube
  3. Did a quick polish to get the water marks out with XMT 1 and orange edge pad with DA on 6, dust a little more than I wanted, but did a hell of a job, got about 97% of the water marks out.
  4. Waxed with Insulator Wax x 2, the first coat got to cure overnight and the second got about an hour, and topped with Pinnacle Soveran x1
  5. Dressed the wheels with Ardex Speedy Brightener as well as the wheelwells.
  6. Hit the windows real quick with the DA while doing the paint and wiped doen with Stoners IG.
  7. Did not do the inside.
Real quick I want to take this time to give big ups to the SHmitt, my foam gun broke the day before so I no way to properly foam th epaint before washing, but using just 2 buckets and the Schmitt I wash able to properly wash th ecar without putting any swirls in the paint, took a little longer, still the schmitt pulled trough again, if you don't use it get it. Thanks edge for a great product.

AG ROCKS.

Good job. I'm actually doing my black 350z right now. Should be done by tomorrow. I'm using xmt #3 with orange then #1 with a white pad. I will post pics as well. Good job. I love the new HR motors on those z's.

I just finished helping him put a twin intakes and exhuast on this thing, sounds mean, thanks for the reply, can't wait to see your pics.

Awesome job on the 350Z. I love the look of the new headlights on them. I switched out to the 06 taillights on mine but never got around to getting the new headlights.

Yeah, i switched out my the headlights and led tails on mine. It's a huge difference with the HIDS. It's much brighter than the 03-05 hids. Plus it's Bi-xenon so there are hids in the brights as well. You can get them at a good price at the dealer. It's 1250 for both headlights with all hid bulbs and ballasts.

Nice job! Interesting, putting Souveran on top of Collinite :p. I don't see details where a wax is put on top of another wax. The paint looks super deep by the way, and it's really nice and glossy!

Great job! I can see those dark, rain clouds in the reflections.

Your welcome, I enjoy using your products, they actually work and I know you have in the past gotten some bad comments about some of your products, so I just wanted to show my support, keep up the good work.

Yea I wasn't sure if it would work, but I treated the insulator wax as more of a sealant and used the Soveran for the the look.

That's what I was thinking when I saw your wax process :p.

Man I love that car and you made it look sooo good I'm afraid to drive by the dealership in fear I might drive out with one and get divorce papers shortly thereafter.

Thanks, I myself had a hard time letting the owner drive off with it, a swear I sat outside for at least 30 min just looking at it and taking pics, I only posted about half of them.
