Recently purchased a 2007 Porsche Cayman. Looking to detail the interior and trying to figure out the best product for the interior. I'm not sure of the material used for the door panels. It's a soft touch type material and thinking it's just some type of rubber. It also appears that some type of rubberized paint is used on the various plastic trim pieces. I've noticed it's already flaking off the ash tray cover so I'm thinking I may need to be cautious with the type of product used on some of these surfaces as it seems like some chemicals may damage the type of paint used. Anyone that's worked with this era Porsche have any advice to offer?

Can't go wrong with any of the Griots Garage interior products, when in doubt that's the brand I try first.

Be careful with the painted surfaces on the plastic pieces. They used soft touch coatings and it can deteriorate over time. Go to Planet-9 bulletin board for all the answers in the Cayman 987 threads. I owned a 987 Cayman and you can easily touch up any areas that loose paint.
