This is my buddies new 08 F250 he ordered not to long ago, its black on black, black paint and an all black interior, kinda a rare combo, beautiful truck, I told him how hard black was going to be maintain, and he said thats why he had me to keep it clean, haha, fun for me, anyway, since the truck was new I told him we needed to get a good seal on it, so he dropped it off to me and I got to work. Once I put some light to the paint I started to realize that it wasn't going to be as easy as I thought, a lot of waterspots and moderate swirls, and this thing is big and black. I spent a total of 15 hrs on it over a 2 day period and only did the outside only to have it rain that night, still I was able to get a good seal on it. Here is what I did and the pictures.

Process:

Wash:
## WG, ## APC, ## Rim Cleaner, and Pressure Washer, Dried with ## MF and PB WW, didn't do a full wash job, way to cold, plus it wasn't to dirty.

Clay:
None, to new to clay.

Polish:
It took me a while to figure out the right combo for this paint so I played around and came up with SIP and Orange CCS pad with Flex on 6. Then finished with P106 and White CCS pad with flex on 4. This was a killer choice, it made for a quick and almost effortless polishing and the finish was a smooth as glass and about 99% perfect. The size of the truck is what took so long.

Sealed:
Two coats of Jetseal. The front cap got an extra coat of Collinite Insulator wax.

Windows:
Polish with DP Glass Polish and the polishing pad that came free with it and Stoners IG. Then sealed with Klasse SG.

Wheel:
DP Wheel Glaze and a real light coat of ## Tire Shine, didn't want to put to much on cause he was going on a road trip the next day and I didn't want it get all over the paint.

This is how much clearance I had betwen the truck and my carport when I pulled it under, needless to say I had to do the roof outside with a ladder.

Well that all for me, hope it looks good to you guys.

Looks real good to me... I love black trucks, and you've got this one looking right.

Looks pretty good from here. I really like this new Ford styling. How long did you wait between 2 coats of Jetseal???

Good job! That black truck looks great! Thanks for the polish/pad combo info. I'll have to use that on mine when spring/summer comes around.

Great job. But the most impressive thing is the front license plate, ha. Geaux Tigers !

That big boy is beautiful! :buffing:Sweet job....

I didn't have much time to seal it so I only wited about 30 min between, which they recomend witing only 20 between coats.
