This was one of my good friend's cars, he asked me to do a winter prep and only a one step polish and also debage his emblems. The car was in o.k. condition, hood and trunk was a major swirlcity so i went ahead with some meguiars 105 to eliminate the deeper scratches.

Products used:

Wheels/Tires:
Sonax Full Effect
Simple Green 1:1 on tires
Meguiars Endurance Tire Gel
Various brushes and mitts

Wash:
2-bucket method
Chemical Guys Citrus Wash
Meguiar's wash mit

Glass:
Invisible Glass Foam
Clay Magic Window Clay
Rain-x

Clay:
Meguiar's QD
Clay magic claybar

Paint correction:
Griots Garage DA
Lake country 5" backing plate
Meguiar's 105 / LC CCS Orange Pad
Meguiar's 205 / LC CCS White Pad

LSP:
Blackfire Wet Diamond / LC CCS Black Pad

Outside trim was first cleaned with Meguiar's #39 Heavy Duty Vinyl Cleaner and dressed with Meguiar's #40 Vinyl and Rubber Conditioner.

I did the job at his house and forgot my halogen lights  so here are the best pictures i could get.

Looks great, nice gloss. How long did the whole thing take you?

Looks very good. That hood after clay shot was like wow. I wanna see what the whole car clay looked like lol

Awesome shots! I love the lancers they are awesome cars for a decent price. Hey quick question. How do you 'debadge' a car? I've seen lots of them before and always wondered how they get their badges off. I know what you mean by it getting dark early now a days. It gets dark in pgh by 6 or 7ish.

I wish it was 6 or 7ish here, it's more like 4pm. There's a couple ways to debage a car, i find it the easiest by using a heat gun or hair dryer to heat up the badge and than using a teeth floss you work your way through underneath the badge. The residue glue can be removed with googone (by the way some people are affraid of using googone on painted surfaces but i have never encountered a problem) followed with a polishing compound like Meguiar's 105 on an Orange Pad

I wish mine was like that, no amount of time spent on that paint with proper products ever did bring any crispness/clarity back to that paint, I also hope you get better luck than me with the car, mine was an absolute POS !

This was a customers car guys, not mine, and if you're wondering about cold weather issues as to working, i did not really have any since it was 45 degrees out and the garage was heated as well.
