On Monday March 1st, I made the trip out to Rob's house to fix the exterior of his BMW. We have been in contact the last few months but with the 5 feet of snow the area has gotten since December it has been tough. Well the day finally came where the weather was clear and both schedules permitted. My friend Dan came along to help which was much appreciated. The paint was in overall great shape just needed a thorough polish with some extra attention to the horizontal surfaces. Thank you Rob for having me out, it was great to meet you.

Rob had already washed the car and did the wheels before we got out there so we immediately started on the paint. After giving the car a 91% IPA wipe down, we were ready. The horizontal panels were treated with Menzerna SIP via Lake Country Cyan Hydro Tech Pad using the Makita, then followed up by Menzerna 85rd via Black Lake Country Pad using the Makita. The vertical panels and bumpers were treated using Menzerna Power Finish via Lake Country Cyan Hydro Tech Pad using the PCXP. After the leveling phase was completed and final polishing was done, I went over the entire car using CG EZ Creme Glaze using a 5.5 inch 3M black pad on speed 6. This would further clean the paint and prep for the protection. After speaking with Rob and telling him about Blackfire, we went with it. The slickness it provides is one of a kind. I grabbed a red LC pad and applied using the PC again on speed 4. The wheels were treated with Opti-Seal for protection as well as the headlights and tail lights. The tires received Meg's Gel using a DI Applicator.

I did not take many pictures of defects as they were your normal light washing and drying scratches and swirls.

Thanks

Friend Dan using Power Finish on all the vertical panels and bumpers

After I corrected the surface, I went for some serious gloss with 85rd.

Nothing was done to the interior but I did a once over on the door jambs using Optimum Instant Detailer and Optimum Car Wax

That is simply stunning (as usual)! It's hard to make white "pop", but you sir have accomplished this!

I 100% agree with Meghan, that interior is just amazing. I worked on an Alpine White Mroadster and i still believe it is the hardest color see/work with. You did a great job gettin it to come alive.

Great work as always DJ!

FYI, if you haven't yet tried applying the Blackfire with a "Gold LC pad" yet I strongly suggest trying it....goes on a lot better! :props:

theres a gold LC pad??!!!!! where the heck have i been hahaha

auditt, I havent used my flex since i purchased it last year and even I know theres a gold LC pad! lol,, very nice job making that paint look wet, I might have to grab some blackfire!!

What do you by "clean the paint" when you mentioned the cg ez creme glaze? I used the glaze once and followed with cg js109 and loved the results. Just curious about your wording.

Hahahah ohh lordy, my mind is going on me tempter. If someone does get bored, can they show me what this mystery "gold LC pad" looks like. I mean, the closest i can think of to gold is yellow, and that is for heavily oxidized surfaces.

Thank you everyone.

By cleaning the paint with the EZ Creme Glaze really allows the sealant to chemically bond to the paint. I use the PC a Black or White pad most of the time, speed 6 1 small sized drop for a 3x3 area and work in until it absorbs into the paint, it won't take long. It adds some additional gloss by itself but knowing that the sealant I apply will have it's best chance at maximum durability, I always use it. I have done a hood 50/50. One side was polished, wiped off and sealant applied. The other was polished, EZ Creme Glaze, then sealant applied. Let's just say after 6 weeks there was a significant difference in the two sides.

Also the gold pads come in the CCS Style as well.
