I took delivery of this car about (1) week ago. I was less than impressed with the condition of the vehicle, when I took delivery. The dealer offered me a detail, but I decided to take on the task myself. Its been a little time since I've done a complete detail (in / out), with clay, polishing, etc. I must be getting old. This one was completed over (2) days and 12 hours. I need a week to recover now :-(

Feedback always welcome ..

Exterior:
- Meguiars Gold Shampoo (w/ Blue Micro-Chenille Wash Mitt)
- Poor Boys Bug Squash
- P21S Wheel Gel (Deep Reach Wheel Brush)
- Meguiars Hot Shine Tire Spray
- Meguiars APC (wheel well)
- P21S Polishing Soap (exhaust caps)
- Mothers Clay Kit
- Menzerna Final Polish II (Micro Polish)
- Menzerna FMJ
- Pinnacle Souveran
- Sprayway Glass
- Porter 7424 (w/ Lake Country Pads)

Interior:
- Little Green Pro w/ Heat (mats and some of the carpet)
- Pinnacle Leather Cleaner & Conditioner
- Meguiars Interior Quick Detailer (1st try with this, need something with more "kick")

Sorry folks, no before shots :-(
(Didn't think I was going to end up with such results).

I was amazed .. you can actually see the "metalic" in the "black sapphire metalic"

This seems like ALOT of oxidation for new paint ?

Since I highly doubt that paint is single stage, you are not looking at oxidation. Your pads are turning black because the paint is still dirty. This could happen from not completely cleaning the paint during the claying process. Another possibility which I think is more likely is that you did not wash the car after claying. The clay will dislodge dirt from the paint but if you do not wash off the dirty clay lube, you will get dirty pads. All that aside, the car looks great.

Funny thing .. I did wash the car (once before the clay, and again after the clay). I also wish I had photos of the clay, it was quite dirty after the clay process.

The car looks great, congrads on the purchase

I don't know what to say then. But it didn't seem to keep you from doing a good job on the car.

I would guess that the clearcoat is tinted but i don't know for sure. Otherwise, that bmw looks super clean and shiny.
