2009 GT-R (Heavy pics; some new products)

awesome work richy! what machine or machines did you use to buff?

Great job!
After seeing Skylines everywhere I went in Japan, I like the look of the newer GT-R's such as this one the most.

hey richy give me back my car already lol. Great Job man! Pretty cool about the ME. did you compound the wheels at all?
Sorry, I missed this question earlier. No, no compound. Just Zep Citrus at 4:1 and a Raceglaze wheel brush followed by a soft wheel brush (all for the barrels, the faces got Zep and a soft brush).

I would like to say this car makes me go from six to midnight as a avid Nissan Fan Boy. Great job man u did it justice,
I appreciate your kind words, thanks.

You will hear me rave about my Dynabrade quite often. It is an amazing, very torquey rotary. I have a technique I use with it on bad plastic that works very well.

Yes, they were holding out on sending Godzilla here for a long time. But, it does look like they made up for lost time. And thank you.

Anyone who knows me knows I am a big fan of Zep products. Zep Citrus is an awesome APC and I use it for wheels and wells and barrels cut 4:1 (water:product). I will never pay shipping on an APC again. It is available at Home Depot by the gallon for about $12. I use the Zep purple degreaser on tires; it pulls the brown out really well. And thank you.

I hear ya on the stick but the truth is these new manumatics shift faster than Michael Shummacher can.

I'll have to try Zep sometimes. We use the glass cleaner at work and it is ok.

As for the paddle shifters.. I agree they are faster.. but its the enjoyment of shifting as to why I prefer a traditional gearbox.

You're talking to an old dinosaur that learned how to drive on a '56 Morgan +4. I love manuals, but in spite of being more enjoyable, they are probably going the way of the Dodo bird. Zep products rock and are a great bargain. Kinda like Duragloss...another favourite of mine.

Hey Ricky man , that is one hell of a job mate :xyxthumbs:

Excellent work :dblthumb2:

I have corrected three of these babies two Jet Blacks and one Silver Metallic Paint ( More forgiving )!

The two Jet Black one's I corrected where successful in paint defect removal but when it came time to applying a Coating they reacted the same way as your GTR did !

I used a product from Japan called Echelon it works like Opti-Coat a real bummer too remove once it cures ! Make up pads caused more Marring on these ultra soft crappy Nissan paints so much for self healing rubbish :mad: give me rock hard paints any day !

Easier to work with without having to worry too much of marring the paint !

In the End I gave up on the coating idea and used a Wax like Wolfgang Fuzon that did the trick no marring or scratching !

These paints were not designed for nano coatings or coatings like Opti-Coat !

Unfortunely Nissan forgot to mention that these paint mar so easily so the self healing concept goes out the window IMHO !

A good Wax Like Wolfgang Fuzion or Swissvax Crystal Rock is all that you will need .
I'm afraid your client will have to live with this soft paint which is very hard to maintain that's why you are around buddy :buffing:

I hope I have helped you with this problem

Mario :)

Richy,

Talk about one great looking car....well after you got done with it of course!! :props:

Those cars have great lines and deserve to look great, I'm really surprised to see how trashed it was when it arrived at your place. You must have another very happy customer! :dblthumb2:

These cars are awesome but they would be a alot better with the RB26 in it rather then that trash NEO6. My old roommate had a R34 with a RB26 swap in it and that car flew. The new ones do look way better though.
