The owner of this gorgeous 2009 Nissan GTR was referred to me by one of my previous clients. The owner was happy with the results obtained on my clients car and wanted the same done to his. After looking over the car we settled on a 1 step correction to remove light defects and to bring back the gloss to the paint. A coating was chosen on the paint to provide years of lasting protection.

Process
Exterior:
Wheels: 1z Colortec Wheel Cleaner with various brushes
Tires: Zep Formula 505 Cleaner & Degreaser
Wheel Wells: Zep Citrus Cleaner (4:1)
Pre-wash: CG Citrus Wash & Gloss + Zep Citrus via foam cannon
Tar/Bug Removal: Auto Finesse Oblitarate, Poor Boy’s World Bug Squash
Wash: CG Citrus Wash & Gloss via 2BM & Wool Wash Mitt
Decontamination 1: CarPro IronX
Decontamination 2: Nanoskin Autoscrub Speedy Prep Sponge (Fine)
Dry: Waffle Weave Towels
Tape: 3m Automotive Tape
Paint Thickness: Taken using Digital Coating Thickness Gauge
Polish: HD Adapt w/ Orange Buff n Shine Pads via Rupes LHR15ES (5.5” pads) and GG6 (4” pads)
Surface CarPro Eraser
Paint Protection: CarPro Cquartz UK
Glass Protection: CarPro Flyby30
Wheel Protection: Blackfire Crystal Seal
Tire Dressing: Optimum Opti-bond Tire Gel
Trim Dressing: Wolfgang Exterior Trim Sealant
Glass: Sonax Clear Glass via Glass Towel
Exhaust Polishing: Chemical Guys Vintage Heavy Metal Polish via 000 Steel Wool

Before Photos:

Overall the vehicle arrived in pretty decent shape with some minor swirls and scuffs. Something just seemed lacking though and it did not feel like the paint "popped".

During Photos:

Started with the wheels, tires and wheel wells first. There was a large build up of brake dust and the wheels needed to be cleaned 2-3 times.

After the wheels, tires and wheel wells were cleaned it was time to foam the vehicle and loosen the dirt.

After I foamed the vehicle it was evident that there was no protection left on the paint. Look how flat the water is on the hood.

I then proceeded to do a chemical decontamination of the vehicles paint.

After the vehicle was washed, decontaminated and dried it was time to see the real condition of the paint. Minor swirls found throughout the surface.

I did a test spot with HD Adapt on a white pad first but did not get the correction I desired. I then tried HD Adapt on an orange pad and got the correction and finishing abilities I desired.

Here is a scuff on the front passenger corner

After correction it was barely noticeable

Thanks for viewing and enjoy!

Absolutely phenomenal work! That thing would be an instant license revocation in my driveway! I truly believe the local long arm of the law would be waiting at my driveway the day i brought it home and say "listen, with your driving history, why don't you save yourself and us the tedious effort of chasing you around town at ungodly speeds and give us your dirvers license now"!

Awesome job and documentation, you make it look so easy! Love them GT-Rs...

Great work! Recently got a few HD products and Adapt is a great 1 step. It even plays well when using outside.

Awesome job on that GTR:)

Thanks for the kind words.

Trust me it wasn't easy but I had a job to do first and foremost.

This particular GTR's paint was very cooperative.:props:

I always seem to reach for HD lately. I get consistent results and I like that.

It looks amazing!

Thanks man. The red paint truly pops now!

Great job on the car, glad to see you left the rids since customer was only paying for a one step and you didn't give your service away chasing all the defects.

Really nice photo work too, love the shot of the drivers side emblem looking towards the front of the car.

At the end of the day the vehicle was far from mint and the owner really only wanted the vehicle to look "new" again. I talked him through my packages and we decided that a 1 step would be sufficient for his needs and budget. Customer was very happy with the results and that is all that matters.

Part of me wanted to refine the paint further but I am not sure the owner would have even noticed unlike the rest of us detailers.
