Hi geeks,

It's been a while. Just wanna share a recent job that I did in the weekend. Object is Honda Civic for its infamous soft paint. aaaand it's black. The car came for a one day detail. The owner bought this from the second hand dealer, so I thought the condition was not entirely bad, just need some polishing. It was indeed not bad, but the 'softness' made me do a two step correction and turned into a two days detail

The initial condition was swirls and scratches that I thought can be polished in one go with MF cutting pad and some finishing polish. here is the steps that i tried:
1. Optimum MF polishing pad + CG V38 (slight marring and sticky)
2. LC white polishing pad + CG V38 (not enough cut)
3. LC black finishing pad + CG V36 (slight marring and not enough cut)
4. LC black finishing pad + CG V38 (not enough cut)

so i decided to two step that paint with:
1. LC Orange cutting pad + megs 105 (slight haze+hologram)
2. LC black finishing pad + CG V38 (perfect :props:) well some deeper scratches remain.

the rest of the ammo:
- CG Citrus Wash and Gloss (for pre rinsing, two buckets method and stripping polish)
- CG All Clean+
- ONR Wash and Wax
- Clay towel
- Rupes 15
- Dewalt 849x

LSP (next day):
- Artdespiros5 1 layer
- Artdespiros3 1 layer
- Artdesicko 1 layer

pics time!

Thanks for checking out!

Love the 50/50 shots, made a world of difference.
Nice reflection too:)

Looks really nice but how do u like the rupes 15..

Wow, what did you do, replace all the paint with tinted glass in those last shots? That paint looks great man!

Thanks everyone! Appreciate it so much.

Looks really nice but how do u like the rupes 15..

Other machcines I have tried are Megs DA, das6 pro, Flex vrg, flex pe 14-2, dewalt 849x and makita 9227. Reason why i bought rupes is because it corrects quickly, holo free, larger correction area and almost rotary like vibration. For two steps correction, my punchline would be rotary for compounding and rupes for finishing. Flawless.
