This BMW was smaller detail than most because of its size. After I washed and decontaminated the paint I did my usual paint inspection and I found a major issue. The plan going into this one was to remove all of the swirl marks and detail the interior, but that all changed after my inspection.

If you dont watch this video, please do yourself a favor and inspect any and all paint before the buffer even comes out of its bag. If not you can get yourself into a bind, fast.

I just want to say I appreciate those of you that take the time to watch my videos.

Thanks again!

Garry Dean tip of the day. Check!

Another great video Garry.

Excellent work Garry, your attention to detail is impressive. Good eye finding that spot on the fender where it was burned through by a previous "detailer". :dblthumb2:

wait so is it a 128 or 135? @ 8:40 you say its 135. just showing off my attention to detail :-)

i love that car...thats my upgrade after my Mini.

Awesome job!

Great video Garry!. I'll be searching the forums for more of them.

Great tip on checking the paint Gary. That should go for the whole car. Documentation can save you so much grief.

Judging by the wheels I would guess that it's a 128. :props:

another great job and tip on paint inspection! most of us would probably just start the coorection.

did you call the owner or have him come by to see the burn before moving on?

Good tip about inspecting the paint, especially when it isn't your personal vehicle!

nice work! did u point out the buffer burn to the owner? or did u just steer clear of it? i would be worried the owner might try to blame u. at least u have video showing u didnt do it :)

I do a walk around with every client, but generally the vehicles are really dirty at that time so I cannot see every defect until it is clean and clayed. I immediately called the owner, she came over and I pointed it out. This happened before the buffer ever came into the picture. After seeing this issue D151 was the most aggressive I decided I would go on this vehicle, but I did not go near that spot.

I take pictures and or video of every vehicle I work on. Before, during, and after to ensure I do not miss anything and cannot be wrongly accused as well. I communicate very well as you all may have noticed. I make sure to ask the client if they know of any scratches or issues that bother them. At that point it is up to me to let them know if I find anything. As soon as I do I either call the client to discuss or if they are close I go get them.

top notch! did the owner admit to some other detailer screwing up the paint?

i had an issue with a mercedes C 230 the other day the that trunk wouldnt close. the latching mechanism wouldnt close. finally it stayed closed, but the car still thought the trunk was open. after returning the car, the client didnt seem too concerned since it was his daughter's. i was honest about the problem, but i always hate having to bring up something like this.

She had no clue, but when I showed her she didnt seem to care. She was more impressed with the interior, lol.

Nice work man! I bust everyone's ballz that just comes out and says"this product is bad ass etc" without any proof but seeing Ultimate Shampoo in action was pretty slick! Have you ever encountered any
Issues where you spray the leather and. It leaves those notorious spots?
Secondly you seemed really scared to "cut" the pAint... Exactly why? I can understand maybe the previous detailers went ABO with compound but I still think younwould have been ok cutting/compounding for more defect removAl .. Could it haveq been that the previous guy just went to agtessive on the quoth spot?? But seriously, why were you afraid to be a little more aggressive? Beamer paint is usually medium to hArd ...

Thx for the reply and good work man!
