2010 Camaro EXTREME Makeover! - NEW SEMA 2014 PRODUCTS

Sorry but I can't show the products we used till they are announced at SEMA

I met Bill the owner at this show,

Pictures: Autogeek at the 6th Annual Palm City Fall Fest Car Show!

I politely introduced myself and then gently let him know that if he was interested that we could show him how to machine polish paint to remove the horrendous swirls in the paint on his 2010 Camaro.

I have to say, it was a little hesitant because he didn't know who Autogeek was nor myself but after some shop talk he said "yes".

I asked if he was out and about around lunch time if he could bring his car by Autogeek so I could capture and document the true and accurate condition of the paint on his car before we buffed it out. He said "yes".

Be careful looking at the pictures below as this is going to hurt your eyes....

You're such a tease!!! You are killing me Smalls! That is some jacked up paint on that Camaro, swirl city for sure. I'm looking forward to seeing the results as Im sure they will be stellar with the new products. I am especially interested in seeing what the good folks at Flex have in store for us.

While I can't show you what we used I can show you the results and what powered us through the night....

First here's the Autogeek Pro Detail Team

From left to right...

Al, Frank, Craig, Chris, new guy Brad who owns a 1969 Chevelle, Den, and Robert...

And do notice the finish on the old 2-door Chevy....

:)

Buffing out a car is a lot of work....

Buffing out a horribly swirled-out modern muscle car is even more work and that requires some fuel and hydration to keep everyone powered up...

The owner of the car Bill provided the fuel.... from La Forchetta!

Hydration provided by cool clean filtered water in,

Mmm.... cold water!

Ah.... refreshing.....

OH what's that 1st pizza! It looks gooooood. Looks like some sort of dessert one with icing, but I'm not sure what's on it.

Here's the guys wearing microfiber gloves and the super soft rolled-edge microfiber towels to wipe the LSP off....

In this shot you can see Chris pointing towards the big screen which has pictures of the before condition of the paint showing all the swirls....

This Camaro was trashed to say it in a good way. The car was incredible turned around using the new mystery products and boy did they impress me and a few other guys. Result speak for themselves and with another successful dramatic turnaround. Thanks to Mike and crew as always. Until next time.

The owner must have been blown away especially after the way his car looked to begin with and his initial skepticism.

I bet he thought it looked good before it was done.

That's why I chose this car to showcase these new products. One thing for sure, if the next person to buff out this car didn't do it the right way using good products, pads, tools and techniques it was going to be toast.

I'm looking forward to seeing the results as Im sure they will be stellar with the new products.

Since you made this post I've added the "after" shots both inside the Show Car Garage and outside in full sun. Isn't the full sun shots the one everyone wants to see?

I have that thread ready to go for unveiling on Monday next week.

Just to note... while we used a lot of Flex tools when we did this project the " New products" were not the tools.

These new products will be shared on Monday too....

I've been in this industry a long time and I'm here to tell you the products we showcase on this Camaro are going to be a HUGE hit with the all the guys that like machine polishing paint the best.

:D

I can't wait! That paint came out stellar.

That was a most satisfying project, Mike! When the team was finished, the Camaro looked as "hot" as it sounded. The paint finish felt as smooth as glass and the new products passed the test with flying colors. Your pictures really document the transition in a dramatic way. You make it look easy but we know that you put a ton of effort into your before, during and after shots. Thanks for all that you do for the guys on the AG forum.
