Tonight I had a chance to work on one of my friends 2010 Genesis Coupe

RFB Slim Ballast Can-Bus HID Kit installed
License Plate LED installed
Auto Meter Boost Gauge installed

Tomorrow I will be detailing the vehicle with him and showing him the ropes, as well as tinting his taillights :)

Sweet! I drive a modified '05 Tiburon so I am pretty familiar (and envious) of the Gen Coupe. My tails are tinted too and I have done a couple other cars. You use VHT Niteshade? Looking forward to the detail pics.

I use VHT Niteshade with one of those plastice spray can hlader/sprayers then I use Dupli Color Clear, I get it in a pint and use a spray gun to spray the clear onto the lights then I wet sand and buff the lights.

Looks sweet! Can't wait for the write up. I always love seeing my boost, and pyro gauges in my truck climb lol...Not so much on the trans temp :xyxthumbs:

nice. let us know how the paint is to work with...

and i hate HID in halogen housings (glare glare glare), but that is a different story ; )

Those are projectors

_______

The lights were sprayed about a week ago I am just wet sanding and buffing them today. But I will be redoing my and redoing the ones on the G35 coupe I detailed a month ago as well in the future so I will make sure to do a write up for you guys

Those are projectors

HID projector retrofit? or PNP in a halogen projector?

just because it's a projector...if it was a halogen projector it's not meant for the HID light source and capsule position. there is a cut-off, but that doesn't tell most of the story. someone said it best that thinking a halogen projector will work properly for HID just because it is a projector is like putting on glasses and saying they will work because they are glasses.

here is another good link for info - Daniel Stern Lighting Consultancy and Supply

but i know it's not your car so as long as the owner is happy that is mostly what matters, though i'm glad i don't had to have him drive on my roads : )

automotive lighting is a big part of my career so i am particularly sensitive to such issues : )

Yep, nothing worse than some jerk with pnp hid's blinding everyone else on the road just so they can look "cool"....

Don't Genesis's come standard with HID projectors? he probably didnt like the stock 4300K bulb as its a little yellow.

nah. it's a PNP kit for halogen head lights, with ballasts and all. i think only the track had stock HID in 2010, but i'm not sure. i briefly looked at them before i got my truck.

OP is selling/installing them due to demand so i can't necessarily hate on him for that.

I have a PNP HID kit for my mazdaspeed and i've never received a complaint. Personally I think 8k is overkill but to each their own.

Update on the vehicle I added a few goodies to it for him :)

Dang didn't realize you worked on cars to, I might have to bring the srt down :) sounds like you have all the go fast parts, now you just need stand alone fuel management and some direct port nitrous :) haha, get some pics!!

The porting was done by Moss Motorsports (New Shop) the owner of if has made the Worlds fastest street evo. He did the porting and will be doing the porting for the intake manifold.

I installed everything on the vehicle except for the exhaust I had it made to spec by a local exhaust shop. Full SS and TIG welded. The injectors, plenum, and clutch should all be in for detail fest hopefully :)
