2011 GMC Sierra paint question

I just got a new 2011 GMC Sierra 1500 with Red paint. As you can imagine, with it being a new 2011 and having sat on the dealer lot for nearly a year, it has plenty of dealer installed swirls etc. My question is the Sierra red paint clearcoated? Also is it considered a hard, soft, or middle of the road hardness?

I would imagine it being clearcoated.

Most GMC paints tend to be hard.
 
best way to tell if it's clearcoated is looking under the hood/trunk if its hazy or flat yes it's clearcoated.
 
It is def clearcoated, I havent done a ton of paint correction jobs but of the ones I have it is a little toward the harder end of the spectrum. I have an 08 Sierra 1500 which had some nice swirling when I bought it. Sent u a pm with my combo that I've had good results with on this particular paint.

I'm not aware of any GM vehicle currently built that is not basecoat/clearcoat.
 
My 2010 Silverado is base coat/ clear coat. Fortunately I haven't had to do any paint correction yet. It has held up well.
 
Hmmmm I did a '10 2500 that had some brush scratches form mesquites and what not and they cleaned up with 105 and an orange pad on the flex ... I'd say medium

I find it depends on what plant the truck was built at... my Canada-built 1500 crew cab has paint that doesn't scratch/swirl/mar very easily, but corrects well with only light to medium polishing. I worked on another one that was built in Mexico and the paint was rock hard but would mar if you looked at it cross-eyed.
 
No doubt it is clear coated...BUT, look inside the glove box for the 'build list', at the bottom you SHOULD see "BC/CC." Base Coat/Clear Coat.

Thanks to everyone for the answers and thanks A-Train and Richy for the advice. I went ahead and just did a 105/601 wax up this weekend to get some protection on her. I intend to give it one more coat of polycharged dg105. I will probably wait till spring before I do any serious correction.
