2012 BMW 3-Series Unveiled!

the interior had nowhere to go but up imo

exterior changes are debatable. That first shot makes me think volvo for a little bit...
 
It kinda looks like a hyundai or a toyota camry. I would buy a Certified Pre owned BMW 3 series and save money.
 
I would drive it. I think it looks good in Red.
 
Overall it looks fine. I dislike the new headlights on it. I also don't like how the screen on top of the dash looks like it's been added as an afterthought. I prefer the previous gen with it integrated into the dash in order to keep the sun from washing out the screen.
But it's still a BMW, and it is still a great car.
 
Same old look on the exterior... I swear they are living in the 80's.

i feel that BMW as a whole is loosing touch with the lines and style notes that are identifiable BMW.

best example for me to give is the Ford Mustang over the years.
- 1960's had the look and were pushed in races.
- early 70's were a change and not sought after for their style or other outside *gas price & emissions* reasons.
- late 70's were the mistake
- 80's & 90's were not identifiable as a continuation in design from the 1960's mustang.
- around 2005 the re-design hit and was identifiable as a Mustang. purchases sky rocketed and aftermarket parts boomed. heritage to what the mustang was came back.

I feel BMW is following that same line with their designs, but they are just a few years before the big re-design and return to the distinguishable look that made everyone fall in love with the M3.

I'm not looking to buy a BMW anytime soon, but even if I was, at this time I would walk past and opt for a new Audi S5

The current E92/M3 is 414 HP and 8300 RPM redline. The new car warranty is 4yr/50k miles. If you follow BMW's service schedule be prepared for big bills after 100k.

The new 3 gets a :props: from me. The problem is not that BMW is starting to look like every other car out there, it's that every other car out there is starting to look like a BMW. Imitation is the sincerest form of flattery. :xyxthumbs:

ewh. It looks ugly. I HATE the front end. Toyota Camrys are more exciting than that...
